Me and Mr D went for a walk along the road but came back by the coast to Camara de Lobos ( if anyone familiar with Madeira). A lot of hills gets the old ticker going. Probably dosnt help Mr D hamstring. Cool when set out but lovely and sunny on way back along the coast. Took a couple of photos. Stopped to have some soup gluten free and bread and back to hotel to unwind before going into town another 45 min walk at 5 for tea and going to take photos of Xmas lights. Getting steps up but won’t can’t keep this up when get home.

I am happy that you are enjoying your holiday in Madeira and enjoying your walks, two lovely photos, good luck for your 1000 mile challenge for this year, I am sure you will enjoy it.
we’re heading to Madeira in a few weeks and have been looking at various walks - we’re staying in the lido area and quite fancy the walk to Camara de Lobos. Was your 5.66 miles the round trip, or one way?
Hi NannyNooNoo. That is a round trip just about 10 km. we walked the road way and came back the coast. If the tunnel at prai Formosa is open it would cut the distance but sometimes it closes with the weather or not safe. You could also get the jump on jump off bus that takes u there or the local bus and walk back along the coast.
