had itchy scalp for over 3 months nd tody ws the first day i had no symptoms except for the past week i have oticed when i pulled by hair up in a ponytail the right side of head hs thinning of hair compared to left side otherwise I have a full head of hair. Any suggestion wht caused this or wht i should do. Last two dermatologists both gave me different diagnosis so i want to go to my primary and see wht she says but wanted to get dvice of the community first and see if others have had the same issue as me.

Thnk you and I ppreciate it :)

🤔 I’m similar age, and my hair is now very thin… I lose most while I’m washing it. I used to wear it up but that seems to emphasise the thinness.

I don’t have any specific itchiness..I use various shampoos..and don’t use straighteners etc.

I have had chemo and radiation ..my hair fell out but eventually regrew. 🤔Maybe the thinning is related to treatment…or simply old age.

i see some hair thinning on right side by my temple and stopped wearing my hair high up in pony and wear a low one when i pull it back now as didnt notice notie it until i combed my hair back and saw a lot of my scalp on the right side as am going back to start using the clobestal shamoo twice a week to see if it will help with the itchiness and not going to put any addivities in my fair (leave in conditioner spry) for a while to see if that helps

I'm 72 and have lost almost all my hair. Being female, I find this very distressing. I have been experiencing very extreme anxiety, depression and stress over the past 2 years. I have taken medications for the above illnesses. I blame the preceding for my hair loss. I tried seeing a dermatologist, but he didn't do anything and told me he couldn't help me. Of course, he still charged Medicare. Don't wait to get medical help. I doubt that I will be able to get my hair back. I would hate for someone else to have to go through what I do on a daily basis.

Two different dermatologist gave me different diagnosis and freaked me out as one sid i had seborrheic dermatitis and the other said i had pruitis of the scalp with all these might be so im going to see primary with ll progress notes tomorrow as she is woman and discuss with her on this outcome as have had scalp itchiness for over 3 months and some days are good ones as trying to find out underlining condition why all of a sudden this just happened to me and wanted to do a biopsey and refused. Tired of getting all differet shampoos and conditions and medicated shampoos as just want to go back to normal wshing as all they is dont do that do this so im disgusted and goint to see her for an opinion and i just turned 72 also, So sorry to hear about your problems
