I started taking the herbal tablet Agnus Castus in January 2024 from Holland and Barratt, after a friend recommended it for PMS symptoms and breast tenderness. I read that initially you should take it continuously (not breaking when your period begins) for the first few months, to build it up in your system. So this is what I’ve been doing.
The first month was fine, no side effects or any issues with taking it. This is now the second month and I’ve had spotting outside of my period. I read that bleeding between periods is a side effect of the tablets. Has anyone else experienced this? I don’t know if I should keep taking them to see if it happens again, or if they’re just not compatible with me?

🤔If you're taking any other hormone medications, such as the contraceptive pill or hormone-replacement therapy (HRT), do not take agnus castus without proper medical advice from your GP or a healthcare professional.
Thanks, I forgot to say I’m not on any other medication/contraception/HRT. I did some digging online and found other women who mentioned bleeding outside of periods (although it was mainly on fertility forums), I just wondered if this was a regular side effect or just a one off?
