worried
Hi I had a anterior and posterior prolapse operation nearly 6 months ago all fine with me I hope this helps you
Thank you I worry about failure rate after 5 years. I am 54 years old x
I have not heard of failure rate after 5 years my consultant did say it can happen again but I took the risk fingers crossed I will be one of the lucky ones but I am 81 but a fit lady and had it do privately going forward no heavy lifting or straining to go to the toilet otherwise get on with your life .
Have you tried a pessary first (that's what I have) instead of surgery-see an intermediate gynaecologist doc, on the NHS, specialists in female issues, and give it a try, nothing ventured, ....
Hello I have had a passer for 7 years. My prolaspe is getting worse
Did you ask about a vaginal hysterectomy-no more worries about uterine or cervical cancer then either!! Freedom!!
Yes hysterectomy and bladder repair. I am so worried about getting another prolapse due to being 54 .
Hi  Yellowfolder I had a hysterotomy end of April and I was able to do more than I ever could after 6 weeks. I educated myself (mainly on YouTube) on exercises post surgery and just built it up. Do as much research as you can and look forward to the benefits of having the surgery. Having my surgery has given my back a full quality of life. 🙏
I have op. booked for 7th December. I'm just hoping everything goes well. I have been in so much discomfort and not been able to pee properly for the past year. Gellhorn pessary in and out every 2-3 months due to bleeding. I'm 78 and just want some life back. I would advise getting on a list for surgery as soon as possible. The longer you leave it the worse it seems to get and the longer it takes to get on the list.
I have had a different kind of (pelvic) prolapse and was warned against surgery by my surgeon… ironically, you might think.
What sort of prolapse did you have?
I had a Colpoclesis as expected and they also did a Perinorraphy which I new nothing about. Didn't know until read discharge letter at home I think this is to remove scar tissue I'm sure it was caused by all the trouble I had with the pessary. I wondered why the Consultant said it would be an 8 week recovery and to do virtually nothing and just have showers, no bath for at least 2 weeks. Came down with a bladder infection and on antibotics after 3 days. Very uncomfortable and painful and I feel quite unwell. Make sure you see a good surgeon and make sure you are well informed about everything.
