Have you found anyone or anything that has been a helpful resource yet? I think that it's commendable that you are recognizing that there is something that is not healthy and that you are taking the first step in reaching out. That is so difficult for a lot of people.
If you have not found support, my second question is what do you think you will need in terms of support? What do you think will work for you and what do you think will not work for you?
I can share more about my own experience once we have established more information about those key touchpoints.
Amber Hollingsworth is on YouTube. Put the Shovel Down is her channel. She has extremely helpful videos for topics related to drugs and alcohol for those who are trying to get hel and for their families. Good for you for recognizing a problem. That is really the first step.
How much are you drinking each day? What are you drinking it for? I never drank in my life (I'm 65), but this year I drink it before to relax and to help with insomnia.
Try putting the acceptable amount in a measuring jug
There are so many very good alcohol free drinks around now, please give those a try, also, as someone else said, put an ACCEPTABLE amount of drink into a jug and measure it. Or use the guidelines on units per week. Good luck, you can do this and your body will thank you!
