I would not worry too much as it can take a while to settle down but if you want to put your mind at rest talk to your doctor, also does she have a boyfriend?
Has she lost weight or been stressed? That can affect the cycle. Also if she has started taking the pill. I would have a conversation about ‘consent’ and sexual health and see if that brings up anything. Not being alarmist, but these things should be discussed with older children. It may not be any of these things, but it’s best to cover all bases. When it gets to May, I would schedule an appointment with a female GP.
🙂 My daughter’s cycle was very erratic for quite a while…but it did eventually settle down.
Most girls don't have any problems with their periods. But call your doctor if you:are 15 and haven't started your periodhave had your period for more than 2 years and it still doesn't come regularly (about every 4–5 weeks)have bleeding between periodshave severe cramps that don't get better with ibuprofen or naproxen have very heavy bleeding (bleeding that goes through a pad or tampon faster than every 1 hour)have periods that last more than about a week, have severe PMS that gets in the way of your everyday activities
Many thanks my daughter hasn’t had a period since feb now, spoke to doctors she said she might have something called do to with her ovaries nothing drastic just messes with your cycle
I went for tests when I was a teenager and found out I had polycystic ovaries, they put me in the pill to regulate me.
My daughter currently has irregular periods, had an ultrasound and does not have the same issue as myself. The Dr. Said it is common to be irregular for the first few years in starting periods. She can go months with none and then be really heavy and in pain when does have one.
She did try the pill but had to stop taking this as it was making her feel depressed.
Thank you for your reply, My doctor said the same that she may have what you have, so she’s going to have a scan done in two weeks. She only started her period in 21 so quite earliesh too I’ll keep an eye and see what happens thank you so much
During puberty irregular periods are common. She had heavy bleeding before? It can be PCOS also.. feel free to contact me I am a pediatric gynecologist
