hi everyone

I had a histerectomy in 2007 due to a miscarriage, I’m nearly 50 and recently my water works haven’t been working right, I went for the doctor and she found little protein and trace of blood in my sample. I was given antibiotics only 3 days I can’t remember the name but it begins with F , I’m not sure if it the start of menapause as I still need to go to toilet and have that feeling in my stomach which is bloated a lot and I have experienced flushes , all I know is that when I had the oo they left my ovaries

If anyone can suggest anything thanks

You could be peri menopausal and you could need some local oestrogen to help

Did they check your CA125 when they tested your blood? If no, I would ask for that as your symptoms could be ovarian cancer.

Sounds like menopause Dr Louise Newson is a Menopause Specialist look on the Balance app you will find information and support it is really helpful . Gain as much knowledge as you can and be harmed as some Gps no very little about Menopause symptoms and Hrt they offer antidepressants 1st and they shouldn't it's in Nice guidelines. X

🙂 If you have trouble with your bladder, go back to your GP and mention the problem, it would give you peace of mind.

🙂There’s helpful information about perimenopause on this link.

Perimenopause is the stage from the beginning of menopausal symptoms to the postmenopause.

Thankyou for that, I have looked at it but is this the same if you still have your ovaries? As I still have mine

Many thanks

🤔 If you’d had a hysterectomy..and ovaries had been removed at the same time. You would have immediately experienced Menopause.

If your ovaries had been left in place. ..generally speaking you would go into perimenopause in the normal way.

The age that this occurs can be very variable..typically periods become irregular and often heavier than normal. Emotions can be affected, and other unusual symptoms can appear.

🤔 Thinking back..it may have taken around 10yrs for me from first noticing ‘differences’ until my last period ..I was 54

🙂 For peace of mind make an appointment with your GP

I've had the same problem and once cleared it keeps recurring. I have frothy urine which is sometimes dark in colour and a string odor. My bladder and kidneys were scanned and found to be ok but they never investigated further. I feel like my body is no longer my own and hardly recognise myself. It's little wonder I need a drink regularly. That's the only constant in my life
