I’ve had a bloated belly for a few months now and when I move it’s like there’s something in my belly it moves side to side like there’s water in there but there isn’t- I’ll insert pictures.
Now for the last 4 weeks I’ve had loose stools going every day when normally I only go twice a week. I have a really rumbly belly when I eat and drink and just in general as well. Fever on and off. I have mucus in my stools sometimes. I done a stool sample test at the gp which came back abnormal for the amount of protein in my stool and been referred for possible IBD? My belly also feels swollen and tender.

I’ve noticed if I tilt one way or the other my belly moves each side like in the photo like there’s water in there? My belly feels soft to touch but does look bloated ?
Hi Rosey, just to be sure I would also recommend echo / ultrasound scan and test blood for CA125 marker. I had fluid in my belly and it was ascites. Not meant to scare you but better push for more examination to rule out gynecological issues. I also had cramps and blown belly. Was told I have air in my bowels… good luck and I wish is just something that can be fixed easy 😘🙏
I had lot of cramps like you need to go to toilette and had loose stool to diarrhoea for few weeks. I am a runner so thought this is cause of my bowel movement ..
However no other symptoms that you mention, my belly was getting more and more bloated and rather tight then moving around
Thank you this is very helpful. When I tilt side to side my belly does move side to side like in the photo. When you feel the area is it meant to be hard or soft?
I have had similar in my 50s and had a colonoscopy which showed Diverticulitis where the bowel muscle looses its tightness and causes loose areas or even polyps which causes bloating and bad cramps at times. Every one has 30ft of bowel, so bloating is fairly common. It is just the large amount which is a problem.I used Buscopan at times and changed my diet to a Mediterranean one. I found white bread was bad for bloating and wind, though I don't have a problem with gluten. You should have a test of your motion as well. It could be lower down as others have said as well. I have lived with it for years now, but it does improve but not go away altogether. I say the body is like a classic car and bits wear out! Good Luck. It might help to keep a diary of what doesn't feel right , describe it and you can take a 7 day copy to the Dr at GP or hospital to show them.
