Is HRT the way to go
I'm so sorry to hear this, my advice is go and see your gp, but also do some research for yourself.
I've had to go through a Surgical menopause, so hit the ground running and feel like I'm swimming in Treacle!
However chose not to go on HRT, not even for a short period of time, despite my body and brain going through a trauma...
So after reading about various things, I headed to Holland and Barratt (other retailers are available). And take, or try to when I remember) various supplements.
The biggest thing for me is the hot flushes and night sweats..... But I'm prepared to ride this storm.
I've personally found little to no support out there for the M word, there's no right or wrong way to get through it, just do what works best for you. There's certainly no "one size fits all" and women have different experiences...
Be kind to yourself, you are allowed.
Xx
Thanks so much for getting back to me!!!! Just feeling miserable!!! Have tried supplements also....menacool vit D,C, evening primrose oil codliver oil.... supplement junkie lol!!!
Yep get the treacle wading!!! 😂😂
I’ve got patches and they’ve been great!
Thanks and you too!!! 😀
Hello again..
OK so does HRT work or is it the right route for you to take?
As I said in my previous message, you should really discuss the pros and cons of taking it with your Gp.
What works for one of your freinds might not work for you.....
I know people who are on various formats ie, gel, patches and tablet form and still experience various symptoms ie moods, brain fog.
There are anti depressant that can help with hot flushes, but again depends on how you want deal with it?
You can't be on HRT forever, it obviously just delays the process.... But if taking it helps then go for it.
I would say it depends on your age as some woman go through it earlier than others.
Personally the M word is brushed aside by alot of people, especially those women who have been lucky enough to escape symptoms (yes it can happen), and woman's health isn't taken seriously by some health professionals...
I can honestly say that I went through a period of not knowing who I was, it was like I'd lost myself.
I've gone from having a sharp memory to having to write everything down.
A reasonably confident person to having the odd anxiety issues...
Brain fog...
My get up and go has gone....
A flat mood and certainly not my usual bubbly self..
But having said that... I've read enough(without researching everything) to understand its all normal and the main thing from this.. Is to be kind to yourself, and your health and wellbeing are paramount. If you don't look after you, then who will?
A healthy diet, exercise and certain supplements are the key to all this, and more importantly taking time out for you, and believe me I'm no health guru or anything like that... It's just I'm finally realising that for myself.
Now go and see your gp and talk about how you are feeling
Thankyou so much for taking the time to email back!!!! I totally get where u r coming from....it's my husband I feel sorry for the most 😍
Yeah will make an appointment with GP when I actually register with one have recently moved!!
I feel very self conscious about how I'm feeling n more importantly looking...like I've just got out of the shower!!!
Just want to sleep all the time n that's not ideal when I work full time 😂😂 and it doesn't matter how early I go to bed!!!
Thanks again for your support....it's v much appreciated!!!
BHRT could be your miracle. Dr John Studd is a professor in the UK if that’s where you are, and he is known for being an expert. Somers book Ageless breaks it ALL down and explains why BHRT compared to hrt, can literally save your life. GAIA brand Vitex, with raspberry leaf, elderberry, cramp bark and dandelion, the stuff will bring you relief. Take it daily. Sepia is a homeopathic treatment that is showing a lot of promise. I found it to be so helpful. Mykind organics or another HIGH quality multi-vitamin is a must! You need B-6, selenium, vitamin C, iron, iodine, magnesium as you well know, for your thyroid, adrenals and other hormones to play their symphony and all must be functional in order for you to thrive. Dr Christiane Northrup wrote The Wisdom of Menopause which is required reading. Any and every question or concern you have, she answers it with love, facts, understanding and potent wisdom. There is so much out there to learn and many have done the hard work already to find what works so dig deep! It’s an ongoing struggle but the light is there and BHRT, if prescribed and taken correctly, which is very tricky and involves an ENLIGHTENED doctor, could bring back your spark. You must get tested regularly. But all it returns to you is SO worth it. It gives you back the zest you had in your twenties. Just some ideas from my experience. Hope this steers you toward freedom and hope!
