I’m in the peri-menopausal stage and thought I was getting pain from a disc problem in my back. However, that is getting slowly better and I’ve noticed I’m getting a tight, sometimes throbbing pain around the right ovary area.
Is this a lead up to the menopause thing?
Sometimes my ovary feels like it on fire. I’ve had a thorough check as my mum died of ovarian cancer so I needed to get investigated. I’m all clear thankfully, but this nagging lower right abdominal pain is not going away. I’m on slow release Tramadol for my back, but this pain is breaking through the tablets. Anyone else getting these feelings and sensations?
I take the mini pill and was wondering if the hormones in that is interfering with my peri menopause. Any comments about the pain and contraception in late 40’s greatly appreciated. No mentioning having a coil fitted please, as that is a firm no!!

I have that same pain. It radiates to my back at times. Sometimes I feel it is worse with movement, other times it doesn’t matter if I am moving or not. I do have the coil fitted and have for about 3 months. The pain was non-existent for the first 2 months now the last few days it’s been back. I have been going round and round trying to pin point the cause too. I am actually having a colonoscopy soon to rule out any bowel related causes. The more I read and other symptoms I have, I am wondering if for me personally I have endometriosis. I have been keeping a journal for years now and the pain for me is cyclical. I hope the pain calms down for you. It is the worst. I totally let it ruin my day yesterday. Hugs to you.
