Heya 😊 this time my pms really kicked in hard and I suffered severely from low mood for a good 9 days. Usually my pms symptoms last 3-4 days, then I can see some light once my period arrives.
This time my period arrived and my pms symptoms got worse, I’m starting to think something else is causing the problem.
I’ve started taking St John’s Wort as self medication, not sure it will do something but I’m happy to give it a go. I’m not on any other medication.
Has anyone experienced something like this? Could my problem be related to something different from pms? I wouldn’t define myself depressed, but I certainly suffer from mood swings!

I can identify with this! I tend to get more physical pmt signs before my period like breast tenderness and a bit of a period pain ache, then about 2-3 days after my period I seem to suffer mentally instead and I can feel absolutely dreadful for a few days, i can’t think straight and life really feels quite bleak and hopeless then all of a sudden I will feel ‘normal’ again, I keep a diary of how I’m feeling and am planning on speaking to my GP in a few months time about it. I can’t take any herbal remedies or anything like that as I have liver disease so I just have to ride it out. I hope the St. John’s wort helps you though. I used to take starflower oil (I think) when I was a teenager as I had pmt bad then x
