Ultrasound results

Hi!

I had an internal and external ultrasound to investigate ongoing pain, irregular and non-stop bleeding, and bleeding after sex etc. The ultrasound is back with the GP but I've been told that the nurse needs to look at it before I can get the results. Is this normal procedure? Does anyone know how I will get the results back (will it be the receptionist, nurse or GP)? What if nothing is found? I'm already not being taken seriously by the Drs I've spoken to, so I'm worried they'll say there's nothing on any of my tests and to go away.

If anyone has any experience or insight please share! (I'm UK based if that means anything)

Thanks x

Yes it's normal for the GP to look at all reports and results before giving them to you. Ask for a phone appt so he/she can tell you what the next step is, if nothing helpful has shown up then ask for a referral to a Gynaecologist for further testing, don't let them fob you off !

Hi it’s usually your GP who gives you the results. I had an ultrasound scan which showed nothing. Got an MRI which showed adenomyosis. I have heavy bleeding and labour pains. If your scan doesn’t show anything ask for more tests, there must be a reason why you are suffering xx
