Fibroid pain

Looking for advice please ... 2 1/2 years ago I had an ablation done as I suffered from horrendous heavy and painful periods, the operation was a success and at the time I was told I had a 2cm fibroid which was just left. My periods re started a year ago and I have been suffering from lots of pain in my lower left abdomen. I also get really bad back pressure in the same area. I have had an ultrasound done last month and the fibroid is now 6.3cm by 6cm and the doctor said my uterus has grown from 8cm to 12cm, he thinks best option is hysterectomy although has given me the option for hysteroscopy and laparoscopy to see if anything can be done without need for full hysterectomy. I am so torn as I am 46 and therefore don't want any more children. I am worried having the op could cause complications and wonder if I should try and put up with pain etc but at times it feels too bad.

Hi! We have a very interesting conversation about this on a different tread, one experience with embolisation, I'm waiting for Sonata treatment, all with the fibroid problem. Let me look for the name , we can keep on talking there.

Hi I know how you feel I got told that I needed to have a hysterectomy when I was just 33 at the time, I am now 59 nearly. I also didn't really want the operation but unfortunately I had an unlying health problem that forced my hand. If there is no other option then don't worry you will be in safe hands on the other hand if they are given you an option look at that first. Sorry, I can't offer any other advice on this but thinking of you and wishing you well.😀

Hello there. I was diagnosed with a fibroid in 2019-2020 with a 2.7cm. Since then, I've used castor oil heat pack on and off- 4 months then off. Another 4 months off.. will continue again this year as my fibroid had shrunk, following this year's ultrasound from 2.7cm to less than 1cm!! Not just my fibroid but also my cyst from 3.8cm to 3. I'll keep doing this natural treatment to help shrink them. .. it does give me a slight irregular cycle though and random bleeding which I'm starting to believe it's from those pesky things shrinking. Best wishes!
