Help with period, hormones & eye problems (Meibomian gland disorder)

In January 2020 I came off the contraceptive pill, since I have been having awful (so awful I need to take time off work the pain is severe) periods but also started to have 'styes'. I saw a doctor who put me on a long course of antibiotics immediately once I'd stopped they were back. I then started to record a health diary and noticed that each time I had my period I had a flare up. Both eyes would go red, uncomfortable, painful and usually show some sort of stye.

I've seen an eye doctor who originally said I had Meibomian gland disorder he saw me during a flare up but today I went back and he said I've got the healthiest eyes he's seen and no way do I have Meibomian gland disorder. U turn from last time. Now I of course asked him what to do and unhelpfully he had no answer so I'm here hoping someone can help me.

This is actually fairly common, and it’s possible it flares up only at certain times.

Have a look online, search for Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, there’s a lot of info and hints on how to cope with the problem.
