HRT for Osteoporosis

Is there by any chance anyone taking HRT who has Osteoporosis? Having gone through an early menopause, I have OP. I have read that HRT can protect against OP but having trouble convincing my doctor.

I only know that my mom took HRT for this as both her mother and grandmother had osteoporosis.

However, she would be 76 now if she were still with us, so the guidelines may have changed. I would suggest that HRT is very low risk as a treatment. (I’m taking it at 48, but for different reasons.)

You can ask for a second opinion on the NHS.

Osteoporosis is the main medical reason for taking hrt. I'm on hrt for other reasons and feel so much better on it. The risks are much lower than they used to be. I'd be thinking about talking to a different doctor.
