Period issues

I’ve been in birth control for years. I’ve switched it a couple times due to cost. But overall it’s been helpful with regulating my period and helping with cramps / excessive bleeding. Over the past couple years, I’ve had spotting almost weekly. My doctor knows about it. I’ve been in for ultra sounds. Switched birth control methods around. Fibroids run in my family but when I had an ultra sound they didn’t see anything irregular. It’s frustrating and I don’t want to just stop birth control because I bleed so much it makes me sick if I don’t use it.
