Do I have polymialga ?

I have been suffering with fibromyalgia for over 20 years . Two years ago I woke up with very painful neck and shoulders . Initially diagnosed with polymialga given high dose of steroids my pain level has fluctuated to good then really bad GP has changed mind about diagnosis. I was given physio then pain management with steroids cortisone injection .

However I’m now back on steroids due to covid not able to be seen by rheumatologist. I’ve gained a stone and generally not improved

Do you have any advice ???

My bloods at the beginning were showing inflammation ( I assume this is ESR ) I’m sorry I’m not very knowledgeable

they have not been doing regular blood tests

The last blood tests were not showing high enough levels to be concerned about .

I will ask the ESR levels should I ever manage to get to see a doctor .

Im guessing if you have had for 20 years that they have checked your thyroid?

Alot of people get a diagnosis of fibromyalga when they actually have a thyroid problem.
