Perimenopause?

Hi everyone!

I'm new here, but hoping someone is able to comment if they think I could be experiencing perimenopause or not.

I'm 37 and have always had very heavy periods and regular cycles.

After having my first child 17 months ago, they returned after 6 weeks and were as they'd always been for the first 11 months postpartum. The past half year however my cycles are becoming shorter (from 29 days to 25 days), and the length of my periods shortened too (from 9 days to 4 days). I have occasional hot flashes, and I feel like my eye sight has suddenly worsened the past couple of weeks.

To add I have not been on any kind of birth control that could be messing with my hormones as I can't take those.

Would I be wasting the GPs time if I booked an appointment to discuss this?

Any advice would be appreciated

🙂 It’s possible there could be other reasons other than Perimenopause. You definitely won’t know for certain unless you discuss these symptoms with your GP.

I hadn't realised that hormones affect vision, but a quick goggle shows that they do... though I guess you are going to see the optician soon, at least to reassure you that there is nothing unusual going on with your eyes.
