Cyst

I have a fibroid which is very small, doctor has told me to leave it alone not to unecessary get it treated. When I last went for a scan just to check on they found a cyst on one of my ovaries? Apparently it’s called a Simple Cyst doctor has said it’s quite normal. And he was certain to to take it further. Has anyone else had this?

Yes I’ve had a cyst on my ovary. Please don’t worry, it should just disappear on it’s own in a few weeks. (Hopefully another scan will show that its gone) If you do get any pain etc from it then just inform your gp, but please don’t stress x

Thank you so much for the reassurance I’ve just been reading up on it and maybe too much 🙁 it was saying it can lead to Cancer and it was very upsetting that’s all. But thank you xx

I think the number is about 80% of women have a cyst in their lifetime, it’s very common. Mine hurt in my twenties the most. It’s been years since I felt it now. I got acupuncture for it and never felt the pain again after that. She put a few needles in my ear, I remember that. Acupuncture can work some miracles!

I had a cyst removed end of last year. Biopsy result showed all normal and nothing to be concerned about.

Like what the lady above said, most women get cysts and they usually come and go on their own and aren’t an issue. Hope you feel more reassured x

I've had ovarian cysts since my teens ( 40 odd years ago !) one plus ovary did have to be removed as it was huge but otherwise they just sit there causing no problems, I've also had fibroids for years, currently one measures over 6cm but Gynae is happy to leave it alone. Both are very common and now considered a normal occurrence.
