My doctor told me I have fibroids but I’m confused to why I’m still getting pain and they said it’s normal. The pain is unbearable at times

i am a bloke maybe shouldn't poke nose in women probs but looked on line for you and it says it doesn't show in some or only lightly but if like yours you need to see specialist for stronger meds nhs.uk/conditions/fibroids/...

If they are causing problems you need them removed, have you had an ultrasound scan ?

Yes had a ultrasound as they were looking for cysts but resulted in showing the fibroid. She said it’s normal in a woman but I feel It’s just on going with the pain

They are extremely common, I've had one for years without problems but I'm now getting pain so my Gynaecologist is happy to remove everything. You will have to keep pushing for some treatment, depending on your age there are various options.

The only thing that is bad is just the pain I get. Sometimes it’s that bad it wakes me up in the middle of night and can last for 3 days. If I feel the pain isn’t easing when it comes then I will have to go back. I’m 26 but surely there is something to help the pain apart from taking paracetamol etc.

Is the fibroid big ? small ones shouldn't cause pain, maybe something else is going on.

What you are experiencing is not normal. Fibroids are normal, but not the extreme pain you are suffering. If pain wakes you on a night that is very extreme pain. Get back to your doctor asap or even go to A&E, ER, when the pain is flaring. No-one should be in that amount of pain and be expected to accept it. It needs investigating. I had an ectopic pregnancy when I was 19 and that pain would wake me and flare up. I am not saying it is an ectopic but I found later that childbirth was nowhere near so painful. Let us know how you go. Don' t suffer, go and get some tests done. I wish you well. Bel x

Yes I have had some for many years, with no problems.I can only assume they are very small ones. I know to go back if in pain. Good luck to you.
