I have recently been diagnosed with Pots by my cardiologist. He was doing testing for over a month. However, in between tests I passed out several times and my heart rate stayed elevated and I was taken to the ER. The ER held me in the hospital for 3 days and did their own tests. They came to the conclusion I had afib and needed a pacemaker, but released me to schedule the procedure with my cardiologist.
I brought all my test results to my cardiologist and he compared with his tests and concluded pots. He told me if live style changes and gave medicine. He said if that doesn’t work in 6 months they may consider a pacemaker.
So I went for a second opinion as the hospital and the dr had conflicting ideas. The second opinion said afib and pacemaker.
The problem is my insurance only pays for my regular cardiologist so I must do what he says.
Have any of you ever had this situation? If so what did you do?
Thank you so very much. I’m just tired of being sick!
