Odd sensation that feels like I’m not getting air into my right lung.

I don’t really know how to explain what I’m feeling at the minute, but I suppose that’s the long and short of it!

It basically feels like I have some kind of massive lump in my upper chest, just under the right side of my neck on the front, but I can also feel it go all the way down where I suppose the inner side of my right lung would be. I also feel a little as though I have a lump in the base of my throat. Breathing is hard, because breathing in just feels like I’m making the lump bigger, which feels like I’m not actually getting anything into my right lung, but I’m not short of breath. It’s uncomfortable and achy but I wouldn’t say overly painful or sharp. I can also feel discomfort in the middle of my chest on the upper side of my back, but apart from that I feel ok. I have developed a cough today, which I think will end up turning into a chesty one.

I have asthma and have had asthma attacks quite a few times where my O2 levels have been about 89%. Last asthma attack I had was July 2016. I also get chest infections quite a lot, but what I’m feeling now doesn’t feel like either.

I was wondering whether anyone could maybe help out. I have no idea what it could be, or how long it could last. I don’t see it as an issue to get sorted straight away, because I’m not that short of breath, but it’s uncomfortable and annoying.

Sorry this is so long!

Hello jxedc .

I'm so sorry to read about this uncomfortable condition you have. I think it would be mere speculation for anyone to try and explain why you you are experiencing these symptoms. I do however, think that they should not be ignored. You need to see a doctor about them. They will likely send you for tests. It could be nothing of consequence, but I would urge you to seek medical advice sooner rather than later.

I hope you find answers soon.

Sending warm wishes.
