I was prescribed macrobid antibiotics for a possible uti as the 1st antib didnt work. However i have never taken these before and have real anxiety about taking tablets iv not had before feeling like they will do something bad. Has anyone ever been on these and had little or no sides effects? Is it generally well tolerated.
Thank you

I think you will never know how you react to any drug until you take it. Unless the doctors do a preliminary test on you. Nevertheless, antibiotics are known to have the greatest drug reaction, one of my daughters sometime reacted to an antibiotic that she has taken before. So it varies with individuals.
Not to worry, i advice you hang around the clinic two to three hours after your first dose to see if you get any immediate reaction. If you are talking about the long term adverse effects, you can read it up on-line, but is there any drug without adverse effect?
Just focus on treating the infection dear, as it seems it needs a stronger antibiotic. I believe you will be fine. Cheers!
My daughter always takes Macrobid for uti and she's fine, no side effects. I took it and it made my head very squiffy so I got a different one prescribed.
