Oral Thrush...

Have just been diagnosed with oral thrush and have been prescribed nystatin. It started on Monday and had gradually been getting worse so finally went to the doctors today. I feel perfectly fine in myself, no fever, or nausea, just sore tongue and lips. My main question is how long before the nystatin kicks in? It's my boyfriends birthday next week but on Sunday i'm due to join him and his mates on a day out. There's nothing physically stopping me going but i'm quite self conscious and don't want to spend the day feeling awkward and hiding my mouth. Plus eating and drinking are both bit uncomfortable at the moment. I'm not expecting it to be totally healed of course, I know that may take a week, but some improvement would be nice. I have read somewhere that there might be some improvement within the first 2 days (which of course would be perfect). Any ideas?

I been having the same problem, white coated tongue, bad taste and foul smelling mouth after long course of antibiotics, Gp said oral thrush and prescribed Nystatin 4 times a day, 10 days after no improvement.

I was wondering if you managed to get rid off yours and would really appreciate some tips.

Thank you
