I'm currently suffering with anxiety and depression, I also seem to be going through the menopause, obviously hormone levels are going to be all over the place but its just making my anxiety and depression alot worse I think, has anyone experienced this? I'd be very grateful for any tips or advice, Thank you, very scary at the moment xxx

Hi Suzie, fluctuating hormones can have a crazy impact on our mood an anxiety. A few suggestions that have made a big difference to me. Homeopathy - amazing treatment and it works with any conventional medicine you may already be taking. Look into a technique called Tapping or EFT (this website is good thetappingsolution.com) its good for anxiety. Also foods such as coffee, cheese and citrus fruit overstimulate the adrenal system and reducing them can have a positive impact on your anxiety and sleep. hope you find this helpful, hang in there xx

I can relate to the depression part and today I hope to try and get hold of a sad lamp I hear they're very good. I also take amitriptyline which is helpful but things are worse at this time of year. Exercise is good. Eating a healthy serotonin diet such as chicken and turkey which have tryptophan can help. I find what helps with anxiety is natural gaba from Swanson. I also take evening primrose oil which helps my hormones and Menogest which is a natural progesterone cream along with a bunch of Vitamins. Hope helps. You're certainly not alone anyway. Love + prayers xx ♡

Yes I have done and I saw a menopause specialist and they said that it is part of menopause.

Thanks Rachh8

Thats reassuring for me, this menopause certainly brings on some unpleasant symptoms, thankyou for taking time to reply :-)

hi I started the menopause when I was 42 am now 55, so now 13 years which is post menopause was told by my Dr. that it takes 15 years to complete from start to finish, but I don't believe that as every woman is different. I have been suffering with depression & anxiety for many years, & as I now have a chronic illness(fibromyalgia)my pain management consultant changed my antidepressants & I now take duloxetine or sometimes known as Cymbalta which are very good ad they work on the good serotonin in your brain. Make sure you see your health care provider asap to talk about a suitable antidepressant I'm sure this will make all the difference. Good luck 🍀

Thankyou for the reply, and yes I agree with you completely in that we're all different so it can affect us differently as well as take different lengths of time, I'm already on antidepressant meds, I do think they help, xx
