Pregnant or Late?

Hello!

I am about a week late on my period. However, it is NEVER on a set schedule. Once, I went three months without a period and the next was perfectly normal. I am only 20, so I'm not sure if thar has anything to do with my regulating, but this time seems different.

Given that I was on a 28 day cycle period, I should have started July 21st. A couple days before then, up till now, my boobs have been extra tender than normal and they seem to been a wee bit swollen, which has happened once or twice before, but not for this amount of time. I have also been cramping, as if I were to start my period. It's not an unusual or exceptional pain, it just scares me that these symptoms add up to pregnancy. Just a time or two, I have felt a bit nauseous, but it didn't seem like anything serious and nothing came of it. I also had an acidic feeling in my stomach a couple nights ago. I don't know if those two things would add up to anything related to this.

I have taken one test after being a week late and it resulted negatively.

My boyfriend and I haven't had sex since about 2 weeks before I was supposed to start, which was a drunken, unprotected night (stereotypical, I know).

Though I'm only a week late, any sort of conception wouldn't have happened for a couple weeks now, so I figured since it has been so long for any potential conception, a home pregnancy test would be pretty accurate, whether it be positive or negative.

I'm going to see how the next week goes and take a second test if nothing has changed or if more symptoms occure.

Please let me know your thoughts!

I understand I should consult a doctor at some stage if necessary, so that advise isn't particularly helpful. I just want opinions beforehand, in case this is a whole other matter or no matter at all.

Hi :-)

Some test kits are sensitive enough to give an accurate reading at a very early stage.

But, as you say, the most reliable diagnosis may come from your Doctor.

Google ' signs of pregnancy' lots of helpful interesting links are shown.

Best wishes :-) xB
