Why do I want to eat lots of bread when i'm on a diet, I would only have about 2-3 slices in a week but when I am cutting down I can eat about 4 slices a day.

BREAD
It's just due to you thinking you can't have it so you want it, try saying you can if you want but it'll cost you a walk to help burn it off ( possibly a long walk depends on calories in your bread) then you may think you're not that bothered good luck
Thanks Aussieblues.
Allow yourself a slice every other day! Along with a healthy eating plan try having those 25kal cheese triangles instead of butter with it
Good idea Prin. Thanks.
Hi scottishlass 1,
I allow myself two slices of toast a day - well, that less however much the dog eats of it!
But perhaps more important is the type of bread - if it's good wholegrain bread then it's a pretty good source of carbohydrate. Of course, add the words 'in moderation' onto that comment!
I'm going to admit that 2 slices of a 400g loaf is a lot less bread than I would have eaten in the past in a day.
Try the weight watchers bread, it's only 48 calories per slice for the wholemeal bread, it's pretty much half a slice of normal bread but can help numb the cravings
Bread is evil I watched a program on TV where a leading UK Bariatric Surgeon stated/suggested that if Bread and Bread related products were banned then he would be redundant as obesity would be practically eradicated, I'm not sure how much truth there is in that but I would imagine there is some.
Bread served a purpose 100 years ago, perhaps even more recently. It filled the tummies of the poor/working classes but its always been a nutritionally defunct. We all know Wholemeal bread is more nutritious but to be honest that nutrition can be gleaned from much healthier foods options.
The thing is we all love it, that's why I call it evil :D, I could easily devour a ton of it, especially if it's freshly baked! But because I know it's evil I try very hard to no longer let myself, in fact I went for a whole year recently without eating any which I'm convinced majorly contributed to my weight loss efforts.
I think the best advice is to try and avoid it at all costs whilst trying to lose weight, which is easier said than done, as it makes up such a big part of our modern diets/lifestyles and if you can't avoid try a low calorie option like Bonjogoof suggested.
I have A piece of toast in the morning, and a sandwich at dinner.
The bread I eat is a fairly hefty 148 calories a slice. BUT it is wholemeal with seeds and other fancy stuff in it. It tastes nice so no need to put sauces or spreads on and is better for you.
I have no doubt that the cheap white bread, when eaten fried or with oodles of butter for breakfast, snack, dinner and tea does not help with your weight and cutting out would help lose weight. But then so would reducing/swapping out/cutting out pasta and rice.
Since starting the plan this is the max amount of bread I will eat in a day. Its not very much less than before, but it is a 'healthier' option. So far at start of week 10 I have lost 1st 3lbs, so I am living proof that you can eat bread and lose weight.
In answer to the OP, it might be a case of carb cravings if you have cut out other sources such as pasta, rice, noodles, potatoes etc. Try planning your meals a little bit more and reintroduce the foods mentioned but a "good" version, eg wholemeal rice. Also, take note of the portion size it tells you on the packet. Amazingly, its actually a good amount to eat and will not usually take up as many calories as you think.
its in the mind,i don`t eat bread at all now,i crave for it for about 2weeks now i dont miss it at all.
