I've had a few emotional problems and have started bingeing on and off. Any tips for diverting my bingeing.

Sorry to hear that you're having problems, lindyloom, maybe you can find some new tactics here waldeneatingdisorders.com/b...
It's also a good idea to analyse the why's and when's of this happening.
Make sure you're not genuinely hungry or thirsty first. A small salad with lemon dressing may seem like a good idea for your evening meal, but may not be satiating enough to last into the evening.
Make sure it's not when you're bored or lonely, as that can be rectified with company and hobbies.
Is it when you're tired? Having a bedtime routine that helps to settle you for a good night's sleep can work wonders. Doing some exercise through the day will help to make you healthily tired, but don't do it just before bedtime, as that can be stimulating.
Are you eating the right type of foods? Sugary and processed foods can encourage cravings for more of the same.
Have you got into the habit of self-soothing with food? Learning new techniques to comfort yourself can be really liberating, but you may need assistance to help you get started. Your GP may be able to refer you for CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) Joining a group for eating disorders like BEAT could also help (sorry, I don't know what's available in Australia)
We are currently running a 'Change your mindset' challenge which may help and we'd love to have you join us.
Wishing you the best of luck with finding a solution
Thank you so much for your help and I read the article you sent which has given me some ideas. When I binge it's usually with sweet things, so probably it would be best to not buy them!!!! I will join your "Change your mindset" challenge l. Thank you again Lindyloom xx
