Cutting out pop and takeaways sounds sensible. I cut out dairy products and most carbohydrates but I am cautious about recommending that as eating too much protein and not enough calcium to remove the amino acids may have caused the kidney stones which I have developed. I should think most of those who teased you are overweight now! Small portions is helpful and you may find using a small plate makes that more likely. I find it is not easy to find a diet which works long term and avoids regaining the weight so the more you can find a diet which brings weight down and nevertheless has things you like the better.

Do NOT use the blue Write button, DoctorRascal, as that starts a new post. If you have to fill out a template with a title, you're starting your own post, not replying to someone else.

Hi DoctorRascal,I think that moreless was just trying to help because you have posted a few times about struggling to reply on posts. The site can be a bit hard to navigate sometimes especially if you use different devices. How are you managing with it now?

The most common tpes of kidney stone is calcium oxylate followed by uric acid. Two things that can increase formation of kidney stones are low magnesium or low potassium. Oxylate calcium stones can be caused by high intake of oxylate rich foods or beverages. There are list of these available on the internet. The cause of high uric acid is high intake of fructose which can be from intake of refined sugar, sodas, processed food of eating too much fruit or drinking wine.. I don't know where you got the idea that they can be caused by too much protein.

I was unaware of the list of kidney stone foods listed on the Internet. I've had lithotripsy twice within six months apart. I will ✔️ it out
