A very happy new year to each and everyoneπΈπΊ
Friday is my weigh day, so I've weighed and the reality is I'm up 7Ib !!!, so I've turned the page on last year and starting today at 12.9 and a 1/2 !! ouch.
I could use a recent diagnosis of underactive thyroid but will not, the last 3-4 weeks has been full of social eating/drinking and I've got a few more family days to get through before life is back to normalπ
My plan for the next few days is damage limitation!! my cousin returns to NZ on Monday so there's the last rounds of family gathers but I feel it's manageable π€.
My circuit class starts on Monday and so looking forward to that and tracking all my kms for our round the world trekπ
I found this quote and it's helped me over the last few months so would like to share it.
'Just because the past didn't turn out like you wanted it to, doesn't mean your future can't be better than you've ever imagined'
So for all of us, our future is in our hands lets go for it!!π
Happy New Year to you, and it sounds like you've had a good Christmas, with some gain on the scales, but I'm sure you'll get that off again very soon. I love the quote you shared, it is really good.
Damage limitation is a good strategy - I tried to use that myself, but of course the Christmas excesses still came, but probably not as bad as it could have been. Christmas was enjoyable, and now we're in 2016. I think this is going to be an excellent year for us all.
Wishing you a great week ahead, and thanks so much for all the support you give to us within the Monday group weigh-in - I will keep looking out for your Friday weigh-in post, and wish you lots of continued success with your goals.
It will be good to just get back to normal, Xmas has been full on and as much as its lovely having visitors and seeing family the fallout (or gain) is not !!!
I'm sure we will all have a fit and fabulous 2016π
Enjoy what's left of the weekend and catch up tomorrow
Best wishes for 2016

Happy new year Flossie. Don't panic about the 7lb gain. You just have a new starting point now. The underactive thyroid might slow you down, but it can't stop you losing weight altogether, so think slow and steady wins the race. Good luck with damage limitation over the next few days, enjoy your cousin while she's here, and I can tell you're raring to get back to your circuits on Mon. Hope you see a loss or at least a maintain for the 1st week of the year, as you get your routines back in place

Thanks Ruth,
I am thinking slow and steady and can't wait to get back to normal day to day. I do feel tired but will still do my usual but more paced, as long as I get results it will be worth it even if it only a 1/2Ib a week.
Best wishes for 2016

Happy 2016 to you too Flossie. 1/2lb a week is an excellent goal. Also pacing is good. Good luck
That song was running round in my head all day yesterday. I was trying to think of a way to use it in a post. You did it! You'll do the weight loss too! You go girl.

Thanks vintage-me,
I was out with dog about 7 am and the song was in my head and I thought it summed up how I was thinking and feeling and so glad you feel the sameπ. We will get there.
I'm loving that quote Flossie, it just sums up everything I believe is true
It's only 7lbs Flossie, wipe the slate clean and start afresh. Enjoy what's left of the weekend with your cousin and come Monday, we'll all be too busy kicking the K's to worry about what may have been and will be looking ahead to what will be - and it's going to be amazing!
So looking forward to us all being amazing!! π and we all have so much to look forward to !
Life is too short to be looking back at what we can't change and once we are on our trek ??? Well the worlds our lobster !! Lol( well at least if boiled and not served with butter !!)
