Weight - Food/drink intake or exercise issues?

Think my own diet is broadly healthy bar too much alcohol and too big portions, but only low to moderate exercise.

I hear how much you eat . and what, is far more effective at losing weight than exercise. How much does exercise matter irrespective of weight?

Hi Rogloc and welcome to this amazing forum. I could have written your post, especially the bit about portion sizes. I can't exercise hard enough to burn enough calories for weight loss, my exercise is mainly walking my small dog. I've cut down obvious carbs, pasta, bread and potatoes and I limit my alcohol. At the moment I've managed to lose a little every week. Here's a link which you may find interesting.

I suggest you spend some time clicking about to find your way around. It's easier if you have a lap-top as there are several threads.

Have a good read of the pinned post “Welcome Newbies” and follow every thread.

Here’s the link to the pinned posts,

I strongly suggest you read and contribute to the Daily Diary and participate in a Weekly Weigh in. We also have a Drinkless Club where we support each other .

You will find there's loads of tips about better eating, from other members. Sharing your daily menu not only helps you stay committed, it can help other members too.

Good luck I hope to "see " you around.

"broadly healthy" covers a multitude of sins. It all depends on what you consider healthy. It is not how much you eat that affect weight but what you eat, also what type of excersise you're doing.
