I'm new to dieting, as I was always underweight growing up. I have been on pain medication for a long time now, and my weight is adding to the intensity of the pain I'm in. I'm battling this as well as having mobility issues, so exercise is out of the question. It's difficult and I just need help to break some habits to get my weight to an acceptable number. I don't drink very often, as I don't like going out, and I have several stress factors going on right now. I need to feel good about myself and I won't be able to until I lose two stone. ☹️

Weight issues due to medication!!!
Hi and welcome, Cazzamarra
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.
Take a look at the 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate.
We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too.
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
Hi Cazzamarra and well done for posting your feelings.
Something that helped me when I started my journey at the beginning of the year, was to look at this whole process as a lifestyle change. I haven't once looked upon it as a 'diet' but a way in which I want to live the rest of my life.
Don't let your inability to exercise get you down as you can still lose weight regardless. Read through the NHS 12 week plan, as moreless suggested, and whilst you will see that they advocate exercise, it is not essential. I don't know what your level of immobility is but any movement is a form of exercise.
I'd just like to point out that you should feel good about yourself right now. You know that you are a good person and that's all that matters. Losing weight is going to be that additional ingredient that will make you feel in control of yourself and you've already done that by starting your journey here.
I agree 😊 Until you can feel more positive about yourself everything will be extra difficult 😊
Your weight is just a number, it does not define who you are as a person 😊
