The weather has been really cold this week so It is an extra effort to exercise outdoors, but dont forget every little exercise is important so you can do many things indoors too. Have a look at healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... for previous ideas.
This is an all inclusive club, to cover all activity and all abilities and the aim is for each of us to highlight our preferred activities to give us all new ideas for exercise.
The idea is for you to post your exercise achievements from last week and your proposed goals for this coming week. This will not be a competition, but declared plans are easier to stick to and encouragement and support from fellow members are good motivators.
We Also love to see photos, so please post as many as you wish of when you're out and about, in the gym, at your fitness class....
Please take some time to encourage your fellow FiF'ers, as this is all about giving each other support and inspiration.
I have spent half of the week in Italy on holidays. I have walked a LOT (120 km in 5 days) so i have walked almost 3 marathones ๐ . I was really tired -specially my feet - but enjoyed It a lot. But at home i went to 3 dancing classes. So not a bad total ๐ช๐ผ๐ช๐ผ. I felt very well because i could follow the rythm.
My plans for this week included 3 dancing classes plus one skating class and extra streching classes but i fell down this morning and i am afraid my wrist is hurt... It might be difficult to dance this way .... Will see...
Enjoy the week and have fun exercising! But take care!!!

I love your flight of stairs stats every week... And brilliant on the steps and walking those miles... You are well on the way in the 1000miles challenge... Superb ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
Forgot to say this exercise was great especially with you being poorly are you on the mend now
Iโm glad you enjoyed your holiday and that is a lot of walking you managed to do! Sorry about the fall and your wrist hopefully itโs just a sprain and nothing more. Probably be best to get it checked out before doing any exercise donโt want to make it worse if you can avoid it!
Well as expected just managed 5 days of 10,000 steps with me visiting my parents. My dad is in hospital has been since Monday. So I was supposed to leave yesterday but staying until tomorrow. No couch to fitness exercise last week or Noom step totals achieved. But I did manage 183 mins brisk walking which is less than usual but more than the 150 mins recommended by NHS brisk exercise. I managed 72494 steps (42.9km) since I tried to go for a walk most days.
This week I think it will be 5 days of 10000 steps again since tomorrow Iโll be in the car a lot driving back home will try and got a walk in before I nip up to the hospital to visit my dad before I leave- though got to ask permission first since no official visiting in the morning. I have Alfie for 1 day and then on nights at the weekend so I will hopefully fit in 2 sessions of Afrobics. No more Noom totals since Iโm not renewing the subscription but I will aim to have 3 days of 15000 steps this week๐ค
I hope you have a lovely drive to see your dad and hope all goes well.. โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธI love how much walking you have done as I know you were poorly last week so this is fabulous hoping you are feeling much better now
I thought you were talking about your sisters dog too... To be fair the dogs names start with A and end the same... Sorry didn't notice either... It must be great to walk them... Relaxing..
I am glad you enjoyed Italy but ouch on the wrist hope you can still do all that amazing exercise... It all sounds fantasticThank you for hosting xx2000 and hope you have a lovely week too

๐๐ thats beautiful!! Another way of keeping motivated and great job in total even if you couldnt include yoga or streching exercises!! ๐ฅA medal for you ๐
Thank you โค๏ธI managed to do resistance bands tonight and it was hard so couldn't do all the rounds completely but had a good go... Still feeling it in the arms... A nice feeling so whatever I did worked...Have a gorgeous evening
Thanks Gary. It sounds interesting ... There are so many things that we ignore, It is fantรกstic that you are including such a variety of exercises. ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
have fun with the skipping- I used to be quite good at it as a child but must admit I tried it a couple of years ago and I didnโt get very far! Doubt Iโll be able to do the cross cross that I used to do unless I want to end up in hospital๐
Well done Gary, it sounds like you've got your mojo back ๐ช
I learned today that it's possible to link a rowing machine to a hi-pad and with "Zwift" enjoy a virtual tour almost anywhere. That sounds like fun, it's a pity that I don't row ๐คฃ
Thanks for hosting xx2000, I'm glad you enjoyed your Italian holiday, it sounds like you were very active, walking miles. I hope your wrist is getting better.
I've just joined the Strength &Flex forum and last week I managed to complete week 1. The funny thing was that I was listening to the coach, concentrating on what I was doing, thinking I was doing quite well then she said that's the last exercise for the warm up! I thought we were doing the workout Never mind, I know now!
Today I was supposed to start week 2 but my shoulders were feeling it a bit, so I decided to repeat week 1.
Hope you enjoy doing those exercises... I read somewhere they are really good to build our muscle which then helps our metabolism so you are doing something really good for your body... And I am hoping this all builds up to a fitter you which I can't wait to see... Have a gorgeous night
Good morning , I'm not a new member of the forum ( have been active in weigh in and daily diary for over 2 years) when someone mentioned posting in the Fit is Fun group as I am a runner.Bit of a quick back story: March 2020 furloughed from work - gaining weight, not exercising and generally feeling a bit naff.
End of May 2020- very frank and honest conversation with GP led me to look at healthier eating options
June 1st 2020 discovered this forum
I started c25k on my own as part of my new healthier lifestyle, I completed that and ran 5k 2 or 3 times a week, there were weeks when I didn't run at all, I gradually increased my distance until I felt I needed the support of a group.
A colleague is a member of the local running club and invited me to join her on an open night in February 2022 and I can honestly say it has been a game changer!
I now run at least 5 miles 3 times a week, I have completed 4 10k races, booked on my first half marathon in June and have my biggest challenge in October when I'll be running a metric Marathon ( 26.2km =16 miles)
I feel fitter, stronger and may pace is improving, 3 years ago I couldn't run a bath!!
And an added bonus is an increasing collection of fabulous running leggings. I've posted a photo of my latest purchase๐
I'm looking forward to joining in more with the FiF threads.
Exercise for this week is 2 x 5 mile runs ( I'm unable to make club run this week) and some walking.
Looovvveee your leggins!!! You are a great runner!! I finished the c25k a couple of times but didnt go further. I dont like bad weather so i am a "runner" from april to october ๐Here you Will find members with a great variety of exercises and Also some Runners so you are very welcome to share your plans and goals.
I absolutely love those gorgeous leggings... And how brilliant you are for that fabulous running you do and its going to be great hearing about what you have done each week... I can't wait to hear about your metric marathon... This is so great... I love people who run
