1. Think about your fitness objectives
2. Establish a balanced schedule
3. Start small and move slowly
4. Include exercise in your everyday routine
5. Consider including a variety of activities
6. Consider engaging in high-interval training
7. Give yourself time to heal
8. Put it in writing
