My fitness pal ?
Hi Amandaem,
I've only ever used the basic free service from MFP and I find that is fine! Not sure what is involved in the Premium service.

I tried fitness pall didn't get on with it but I appreciate others do.
I use Nutracheck quick easy and uses pictures. I love it. Links to fit bit if you have one also.
Hope this helps.π
I agree, i prefer Nutracheck. Def the pics help!
I joined MFP in 2014 and used it daily throughout my weightloss journey to reach my goal of BMI 22.5 . I have since been maintaining that weight since april 2015 and I really dont think I would have got here without it !
For most of that time I had the free version which was adequate for calorie counting, daily diary and sharing tips etc with other Mfp pals. However this year in maintenance I've upgraded to Premium. This enables me to now monitor my food values and nutrition better ( known as macros ) . It allows you to adjust your calorie limits for different days of the week ( eg I set my maximum higher on 2 days a week, lower on others). And it also shows me my cholestrol content, salt, fats , trans fats, sugar, vitamins , iron as well as just the carbs, protein. I also get some excellent recipes and health articles.
If you're just starting out then that maybe too much information for you, but depending on your personal state of health it could be very useful. Unfortunately in my case, although I've been a very healthy weight for 18 months, I have just found out last week that I have Unstable Angina , so monitoring cholestriol, salt etc is now very important to me .
But, each to his own !
Thank you very much I've only been playing about with mfp but I need to get serious as I seem to just be sticking at 10 st ( put 1/2 stone on since xmas) looks like a little more commitment on my side is needed. Thanks again let the personal challenge begin πππππ¬
I've roped husband in to help, he's started to get me to truthfully write everything down just to see what & where I'm going wrong (cheating) π¬π¬. But on a positive note I haven't been picking in between meals in the last couple of day so well done to hubby π Cos I'm hard work ....
I was doing a bit of cheating including adding stuff because i was below my 1200 calorie minimum (not recommended) and i think my body was storing weight then! I was miserable and craving bad foods. So honesty's a must, if you miss something off one day add it to next so you know you need to eat a little less. Eat 3 sensible meals and you wont crave.
