Happy new year to everyone

I’m a newbie to this forum I weighed 171lb (12st 2 lbs) earlier today that is my starting weight that is the heaviest I’ve been and I’m quite shocked at how much I have put on over lockdown and I worked all through it so can’t use being at home as an excuse I’m only 5ft 2 so that’s a lot for my height

I’m not sure what my goal weight is yet but I would quite like to get out of the 12 stone mark

Hiyah, I've started weight watchers but our stories are similar. I'm 5ft and 160lbs (ish - I have a really bad scale.). I'm just getting the handle of it just now. You don't have to do ww but I could use a buddy to gie me along?

I did really well on weightwatchers when I did the plan a couple of years ago their app is brilliant I started again a while back but found all the new plans overwhelming so gave up but good luck on it it does work especially if you use the app x

It's taken me a while to get into it. I started it before Christmas. They were doing 3 months for 2 or something like that. It's quite expensive for what it is but my thought process is that if I'm spending money on it I might actually do it.

Hello and welcome Catwease[4 So glad you are here and well done for a good decision. Lockdown has impacted in so many ways, but the New Year is a good time to get back in charge! Be kind to yourself, you could spend a bit of time sorting out your eating habits and having a spring clean of foodstuffs. Put your head up away from food too, decide what your energy levels are as to what excersise you do. Decide how much you would like too lose in a short time, say two weeks or a month. Hope that helps. I have been doing this for a long time and have just carried out that process(again)following my Xmas excesses! Have a good week!

You don't need to tag if you reply directly, using the Reply button but you missed that time - it's easily done.

To tag, type @ then the name you want, without a space in between. A list of names will appear: click on the one you want when it is highlit in blue. It looks as though you know this as you've tagged me so I'm just adding this for anyone else who might pass by and need to know :)

I was 12st when I first realised my weightgain. After crying for two days, I told myself that if others can do it, so could I. That was in April 2014. Ten months later I was 10st. and now 7 years later I'm still maintaining at 9st 12.

Use the tips on this site and look at this as a longterm eating plan , not "going on a diet", reduce carbs or count calories, whichever suits you, weigh your food until you get the hang of portion size. You can of course be very very strict with yourself but sadly you're more likely to cave in further down the line if you do . Check the NHS chart to see your recommended calorie allowance for your size to lose 1-2 lbs a week. Try it for a while and adjust after that if you need to. Lots of folk on the forum to cheer you on. You can do this!
