This is a very large community with lots going on. May I suggest you use the webpage as opposed to the app at least until you know your way around. Take your time and follow every thread so that you know exactly what’s going on.

The Daily Diary and the Weekly Weigh ins are very good places to begin. You will find the DD and WI in the Pinned Posts under “Events”
I find the Daily Diary a very good place to share my plans and get inspiration from other members, too. Once the day’s food is written down I’m far more likely to stay on track.
The key to success is participation, we are all on the same journey.
If you can’t find something just shout, there’s usually someone around.

You'll find there are many of us here already trying to lose weight including some (not me) who have lost at least what you're aiming for. So you're very welcome to join us. Have you already decided how you're going to about it? There are examples of many different approaches here so whatever you choose you will be able to get plenty of support.
Good luck you can do it. 5 years ago after leaving a very stressful job I was 17st 5 lbs. lost a couple of stone quite quickly and felt much better for it. I now weigh 13stone 12lb. You will get a lot of support and advice from this site I have dipped in and out over the years as my focus has not been consistent.

As a novice myself certainly on this journey, if not in age and past experiences, I would echo some of the advice that was given to me when joining, and perhaps the best was to set yourself smaller intermediate goals, whilst perhaps keeping your ultimate aims in the background. Consider also the additional benefits of health, well-being and the way that losing weight improves your daily life. These may end up being more important than the weight loss itself. I have gained my weight over many years, I appreciate it will take me a long while to get back to a weight and shape that to others appears reasonable. That’s not my goal, my goal is to feel happier and content with who I am. Once again good luck to you. Dave

I'm afraid thegreato793 didn't post beyond day 2 of her weight loss journey and that was on the 15th December, 2020. You would be better taking the advice you've been given several times before, to get back to posting on the Friday weigh-in and involving yourself in the mutual support and encouragement there.
