Thank you 👍 Will try my hardest to engage with the community and nuckle down on food intake and exercise.

Good Luck David

My son was in the Navy and it took him a while to adjust but he did and often comes on dog walks with me now hes back from traveling in Australia, although I guess with the training and marching that you guys do he's alot faster and myself and his girlfriend often trail behind 😀

Alcohol is empty calories and once you start to manage to up a healthy eating and exercise regime you will feel good on that.

I may try and do the stop October too, not that I drink excessively but when I do I reach for unhealthy snacks and thats my downfall.

I know right I normally suck in loads of calories drinking and then I am right on it with the snacks and cheese and biscuits. For me it's a steady journey and I will be doing long walks too help me to start off with! Thanks for the support and reply

Hi Dave and welcome.

I gave up alcohol a couple of months into my journey here back at the beginning of the year. Never thought I'd do it but it was definitely a big help in me losing the weight I have. Wish you all the best with that.

You're also doing the right thing by giving yourself a sensible amount of time to lose the weight. It's not a race but a journey of learning a healthy sustainable lifestyle, which tends to be more achievable through gradual weight loss.

Good luck!
