Well, I know I missed a couple of weeks due to my hectic work schedule, but I am still living the healthy life, still watching what I eat, and still doing those walks each day. Recently however I have stepped up and actually have been managing seven miles some days rather than the four / five miles; this is more to do with the fact I normally do a three-mile round trip when I catch the train to work, but have decided to walk home from the train station in town to my village, rather than get picked up.

***

As a result, have reached my original target I set many years ago when I first joined this group. I wanted to hit 12 stone 4 pounds (78.02 kilos), which is what I was when I got my black belt in judo at the age of 38. I have gone from 14 stone 13 pounds (94.80 kilos) to this weight, losing 37 pounds (16.78) kilos in just under a year.

***

So I thought immediately of that song from Whitney, “One Moment In Time” …

***

I want one moment in time

When I'm more than I thought I could be

When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away

And the answers are all up to me

***

I still want more though; I want to lose one more stone now. Well, we will see. It is a bonus anyway. So to the song ...

***

Each day I live

I want to be

A day to give

The best of me

I'm only one

But not alone

My finest day

Is yet unknown

***

I broke my heart

Fought every gain

To taste the sweet

I face the pain

I rise and fall

Yet through it all

This much remains

***

I want one moment in time

When I'm more than I thought I could be

When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away

And the answers are all up to me

Give me one moment in time

When I'm racing with destiny

Then in that one moment of time

I will feel

I will feel eternity

***

I've lived to be

The very best

I want it all

No time for less

I've laid the plans

Now lay the chance

Here in my hands

***

Give me one moment in time

When I'm more than I thought I could be

When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away

And the answers are all up to me

Give me one moment in time

When I'm racing with destiny

Then in that one moment of time

I will feel

I will feel eternity

***

You're a winner for a lifetime

If you seize that one moment in time

Make it shine

***

Give me one moment in time

When I'm more than I thought I could be

When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away

And the answers are all up to me

Give me one moment in time

When I'm racing with destiny

Then in that one moment of time

I will be

I will be

I will be free

I will be

I will be free

Lyrics can help . When you think about wandering into the kitchen-sing this is your head . Impressive with the Judo . I did martial arts too and the discipline does teach you to think. I think mine was ‘I will survive ‘ by Gloria Gaynor as I was hauled on the floor by some really awesome giants and I managed to get up , breath and challenge.

I have always loved I will survive. I was sent this version (only a short intro) and thought you might like it too ... the URL did not work so look up "i will survive disco ball" A word of warning though, it might spoil your image of the song. I still love the song. :-)

You are right about music, tunes and determination.

Whenever I have hit rick bottom in life it is often through music I pick myself up again. My wife reckons my song at the funeral is going to be, "I get knocked down and I get up again" by Tubthmping ... she is sure I will be knocking on the inside of the coffin.

I have been in two major car accidents, knocked over nine times (once by a bus), and hit by two fireworks on their way back down to earth, as well as numerous other incidents ... each time I just get up and carry on as if nothing has occurred.
