Getting my weight back on track.

Hi guys,

Newbie here so please be gentle!

I have always struggled with my weight and have always used being naturally large (broad, shouldered and 6ft4) as an excuse to overeat. But after turning 30 this year I have jumped over the 19st mark for the first time in my life, which has shaken me up as I thought it would never happen.

So now I am really keen to lose around 2-3 stone, which may be harder than ever as I have a very busy job and a lack of motivation when I get home in the evening. But I have to change as I know the road I am going down is not a healthy one.

My bad habits are snacking or eating between meals: a really awful one that I am keen to stop is buying crappy junk food when I stop for petrol, for no reason whatsoever, or eating leftover dinner when I am cleaning up, like I am kind of secret eating away from my partner. It’s stupid and I don’t know why I do it but it needs to stop.

Anyway, I would love to find a weight loss buddy that can support me on this forum on my journey and I would love to do the same for someone too. If anybody wants to team up, I would be really happy to!

Thanks for listening 🙂

All the best to you and your goals :). snacking is a hard one to quit but maybe even just a smaller amount of snacking or healthier snacking would be an easier transition

Hi and welcome, MJG30 :)

The beauty of this forum is that it's set up for people who want/need to lose weight and is full of supportive members. We don't need individual buddies, because we all buddy each other. All you have to do is join in.

All of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/weight-l... and we hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weigh-in and the daily diary.

If you haven't already taken it, here's a tour of the forum healthunlocked.com/?tour=true

We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.

Wishing you all the best :)

Welcome to the forum and well done on making the first step and coming here and talking about it.

I'd say best thing to do is join in a weigh day and you will get plenty of support from everyone that day, but you'll still get plenty of support on forum too. Also don't go cold turkey on snacks so to speak but gradually cut back and try to make healthier choices.Good luck
