My weight loss and gain and Liver

I have been on a healthy diet. I am on week 4. I have lost on average 1 to 2 pounds per week. I am 5ft 2 and weighed in at 10 stone 11 and now I am 10 stone 5.

At my heavy weight I felt dreadful really lethargic and most evenings had alcohol which I think contributed to my weight gradually creeping up.

I am aiming to get my BMI to a healthy level. My waist measured 36 it's now 34 .

I have lost weight before and piled it all back on. My worry is not being able to maintain the weight once lost a like most I love eating and drinking. My liver was at 60 and this prompted me to stop drinking.

I think the way for me to cope with this time would be to get around five pounds under my target weight to allow the odd holiday weight gain etc and then maintain the healthy weight loss this way. Does anyone think this will work and what do you think this weight should be. I am 55 years old and my job depends on me looking great. I'm fed up of wearing big knickers and black clothes to disguise my fat. I am also carrying all my fat round my tummy which is not healthy. I realise this is a long haul and not a quick fix. Will my we it loss continue if it does at this rate I will be happy. I am eating around 1000 cals per day and no alcohol but I'd like the odd glass now and then when I go out.

Hello LittleLynne and welcome to the weight loss forum 😊 You are doing really well, my only comment is that 1000 calories is quite low. Have you checked your bmi and target calories?

If you look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then find your target calories. The beauty of the 12 week plan and the BMI checker is that you can tailor the calories to suit you, and it's really important to eat enough or your body won't burn fat. Your bmi isn't very high so you probably won't lose rapidly but you want to lose fat, not muscle water or body mass. Exercise is also important for toning and losing inches,. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate 😊

The forum also have group weigh-ins every day if you wish to take part. The posts can always be found in the Events section on the 'home' page 😊

You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you may have a 'Newbie' badge. If you have any questions or would like a Newbie badge please just ask 😊

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too 😊

If you have any questions or would like a Newbie badge please just ask 😊

Best wishes

Anna

I think you might need to up your calories to about 1400 per day. If you start to low, you have nowhere to go if you plateau also too lesser calories can hinder weightloss and you might be losing muscle mass as well which you don't want because muscle burns calories faster and makes us look lean. Well done on giving up the booze. I must admit, I enjoy a couple of bottles of red wine a week but as long as I don't go over my calories I'm fine. Good luck and welcome. :D
