What do you do to loose your belly fat ?

Hello everyone!

I really struggle to loose my belly fat. I manage to loose weight when I stay in track of my weight loss goal. But for me it’s so hard to see my waist line going down. I know there is no easy path but I would like to hear your experiences, success stories or whatever your experiences are !!

For me my hurdles are

1. My age. I turned 40! So hormone plays a role.

2. I got my two babies by c-section.

3. My diet which used to be earlier mainly carb based.

4. Stress which I used to get a lot.

5. Overeating which was a big issue at one point in my life.

For 3,4,5 I took corrective measures, I do 30mins workout at home almost everyday. But I don’t see any happy news for my waist-line.

How do you find it?

It's so hard to shift weight in a particular place. I've got the opposite problem - slim waist, big bum! If I was to slim down to the perfect bottom I'd look like a corspe on my top half! So I just have to compromise and accept that I'm pear-shaped - but maybe some people here will have some advice for just slimming the tum. I would /really/ recommend Pilates, though. If you've never tried it, it's very boring at first! You'll wonder what on earth you're doing and how it can help. But stick at it because it's amazing in the end. I have quite a flat, tight stomach (aged 56) as a result of it - although I don't put on weight there, it was pretty squishy in my 30s nonetheless!

Thanks Eleanorba for sharing your story !! 💞 I will try to incorporate some Pilates steps in my workout regimen! Got encouraged from your story and will surely stick to the steps! Let see if that helps me 💗

Hi Eleanorba, I found something called Pilates for belly fat, The Bank method for 10mins in prime video. I am doing that. Hope I will get some good results!!

I do hula hooping with a weighted hula hoop, planks and massages with grape seed oil :) no idea if it’s helping :D

That’s amazing!! I never knew about weighted hula hoops. I just google now and learned about it. But I don’t think I will be able to do that!! I do planks for 1min each day and other than mountain climbers, abs bicycle, crunches etc .. but I don’t see much improvement in my tummy area ! But thank you for your reply 💕

Hi Yellow_Blue,

for every article or video that says you can target fat from a certain body area I see another that says it can't be done.

You can certainly tone certain muscles but whether that could lead to losing fat I'm not sure sure.

One thing I heard here on the forum and has been borne out by Mrs Tank and I, is that belly fat seems the last to go. I mean it would wouldn't it, after ours bodies conspiring against us to put on weight it now makes you look and feel bad whilst trying to lose it 😭🤣

The good news is it does go eventually and you are doing all the right things 👍

Thank you Tank_EG for telling me that I am doing the right things !! Sometimes when you keep doing things and start loosing hope, and doubting if you are doing it all correct, then someone telling you, you are doing all the right things helps a lot !!! 💞

My problems not really belly fat as skin, I too had 2 children both c sections 13 months apart, my tummy has more folds than a rhinos bum! 😂 I have learnt to live with it as I think the only option would be surgery, I’ll just keep tucking it into my big pants xx

You are lucky then, Vonb that you don't have the belly fat! For me its threat to my health as well according to GP and I am having some autoimmune problem! So I really need to reduce some of my belly fat!

Sorry if I came across wrong, belly fat is what’s left me with the apron of lovely folded skin. What about hula hooping I hear that’s good or reverse crunches? Good luck xx

I bought a hoop, it was too big for the house so had to stand in the garden to do it, hence it’s in the shed collecting cobwebs now! It was easy as weighted not like the flimsy ones from school 😂

😂You must plan to start using it x

I find that walking or running is the best. I started reducing my intake of about 500 Kcal and walked consistently every day and lost 6cm waist line in 2.5 weeks.Had a baby 10 months ago so it was really needed!

Brisk walk is the best. Hope this will help you too x

Great achievement indeed! I put on huge weight after my second child but got rid off a lot of them!! But now my target is to reduce 8 to 10kg and reduce waist-line at least 8/10cm. I feel focused when I am regular in this forum!
