Hey everyone, as January is nearing its end, I hope everyone is feeling optimistic for the year ahead.
I’m in a good space atm and have a question about clothes that are too big. I have 2 pairs of ‘bigger pants’ that I bought when I was at my heaviest and debating whether to get rid of them as both a symbolic gesture and to ‘make room’. They look very baggy, and if I wear them below my belly like I used to 😂 they fall down completely, if I wear them around my belly/waist they still fit - but are still loose ish and the legs are really loose.
Not sure why I’m feeling a resistance to letting them go but I know some of you have lost an amazing amount so curious what you all did with your clothes
I usually just donate to charity shop unless they are really nice then I might pop them on Facebook or eBay. There are clothes swap groups on Facebook as well, something like that might be good.
You could hang on to one pair to do a fun before/after photo thing with them, but I would say get rid of them. Unless they were particularly nice, I wouldn't want to hang on to them "just in case", fitting into my old clothes would make me quite sad and angry to be wearing those things again.
I was the same, when the clothes were grown out of, they went straight to the charity shop.

We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.
Last time I lost a couple of stone I gave my trousers away to charity, and vowed not to buy leggings as you don't see the weight creep on. However dresses and tops I kept some I altered or made something else with the fabric
Let them go. I have lost 2 stone and like you clothes were just falling off me. I gave some to a friend as they were nearly new,(She did ask as she knew I had my seasalt tops in the bag 😢), then I treated myself to some leggings. It's great to have clothes that fit. So give them away and get something new, you're worth it. Still have some bagged up ready for the charity shops. I needed to get rid of them so I don't look back . Good luck whatever you decide
I will be giving mine to the charity shops when reopened but am still wearing the majority and everything is now too big. Have only bought 1 pr of jeans and this week 2 pr of leggings. To be fair this horrible year has saved me a fortune in clothes as I am one who likes to see before I buy and do the crease test and as there nowhere to go, no- one sees once the coat is on when I go for my walk. Will be having a good spending spree when able.
