Destiny's Child – Survivor - Songwriters: Knowles Beyonce Gisselle / Dent Anthony / Knowles Mathew

It has been a while since I contributed anything, so I thought I would I would start by stating my original aim was to get to 80 Kilos (around 12 stone 8 pounds), which is what I was before I got ill some sixteen years ago. During 2020 I managed to reach the heaviest I have been as an adult, 94.8 Kilos (14 stone 13 pounds).

Thank you to Minniewinny’s constant encouragement, and the many other posts I have read, I am happy to say I am now back on track, being only 83 kilos (13 stone 1 pound). I started back on the 4th August 2020 to walk once again and watch my calory intake. I know it is a marathon, not a race, but I feel I am heading back in the right direction once again.

Sorry for letting myself down, and here is a song for those who are looking for some encouragement …

Well done and thanks for the strong words . Weather doesn’t help but I keep warm with a hour in front of lounge TV with You Tube Zumba and it is working . The 2kg binge at Xmas has gone . Lost it doing 8 hours of Zumba plus upping my walking as my legs are painful but breathe through 3 miles . Eating about 1400 Cals. Back to 62kg and buzzing .

Excellent and well done ... I started at 1600 calories and whilst that started the loss, I levelled off after about eight weeks so I too dropped down to 1400 calories a day. I find that does it for me . I know we are all different and am always told males should be 2500 calories a day, with 2000 a day to lose weight. I personally would be 20 stone (127 kilos) in no time if I was eating 2500 calories a day!

Like I say we are all different, so good luck with your target, and remeber it is a lifestyle change. By the way, you look fantastic whatever you wiegh.

I did it for health reasons too . I am not comfortable physically or mentally being very large as at 5 ft 1 my height goes against me . My friend who is a lot taller than me looks fantastic but I couldn't believe it when she told me her weight . We just need to be comfortable for us . I use calories as a guide as 1400 can be spent on rubbish or decent food . I portion size and menu plan too which helps . Try and stick to 3 good meals say,350 , 350 , 600 plus 100 for drinks etc . Just very simple so I tend to buy the same range of food every 5 days . Like you say - a lifestyle not a diet.
