Last Monday I weighed 13 stone 2.4 pounds and today I weigh 13 stone 4.4 pounds so I've gained 2 pounds this week. I didn't do much exercise as I twisted my knee and had to rest it, so I think the lack of exercise was the reason I gained. My knee seems a lot better now so I hope to get back to walking again and hope to lose weight next week.
Thanks to everyone who contributed so enthusiastically to last week's weigh-in, and here are the stats:
Total people posting on last Monday's thread: 43
Total people who lost weight: 21 (51 pounds lost) (23.13 kilos)
Total people who gained weight: 5 (7 pounds gained) (3.17 kilos)
Total people who maintained weight: 5
Total people starting out on their weight loss journey/plan: 7
Total people who didn't disclose their weight gain/loss: 5
Therefore, overall pounds lost by the group = 44 pounds (19.96 kilos). Fantastic!
I hope you'll join us for today's weigh-in, and good luck to everyone - here's to a great week ahead for all of us!

Thank you. I am hoping to be back to normal again this week, all being well.
Congratulations to you for losing 4 pounds this week, that is phenomenal...! Being strict with yourself and going to the gym 4 times has obviously paid dividends. I'm sure having your holiday to look forward to is focusing you, and you're doing so well.
Oh no, sorry to hear about your knee, hope you are back to full health soon. Wishing you success for this week.
Well this has been my first week and I'm pleased to say I've lost 2lbs! I was 10st 2lb last Monday and this morning I'm 10st. I am very happy and now determined to see a 9 in front next week. Wishing everyone a good week.
Thanks so much for your kind words - much appreciated.
Glad you've got through your first week ok, and really thrilled to hear you've lost 2 pounds, that's really great. Congratulations! You're on the cusp of the 9's, and hopefully you'll be celebrating that transition next week, all being well.
Hope you enjoyed your first week, and wishing you another good week ahead.
Thanks so much. I am relieved to not have any pain anymore, it's really good!
Congratulations to you for losing 3.75 pounds this week, that is really great! Exciting that you're so close to being in the 15's, and hopefully you'll be celebrating that transition next week, all being well.
So sorry to hear about your knee. It really gets you down what with the pain and the frustration of not being able to exercise. Hopefully you'll find your way back to rehabilitating and your weight loss as after all, 2lbs is not only minimal but redeemable over the new week. Good luck Lowcal and spurring you on into those 12's. Go girl!
After everyone's wonderful support last week (for which I can't thank you enough), this week have lost 3lbs so finally made below 5 and 1/2 stone weight loss and really pleased. So now 12st 11lbs and my next milestone is to reach 12st 4.5lbs which will be six stone off the 18st 4.5lbs that I started out at. It's six weeks before I go on holiday so kinda hoping I can make that goal by then. My ultimate aim is to get below 12st into the 11's by the time my husband comes home the middle of October. When he left in May I was 14st 2.4lbs so lots of motivation here to reach that target.
I shall continue with my three visits to the gym this week and keep a smile on my face at all times. To this amazing support network of friends, as I always I wish you a great week as being with you is my inspiration.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm being careful to 'rehab' and not overdo things. Just going to start off with some gentle walks and see how things go.
Congratulations to you for losing 3 pounds this week, that is really fantastic! You're into the 12's, that is sooooooo exciting!!! Wow, you've lost 5 and a half stone in total - that is fantastic.
It's great that you've got 6 weeks to go before your holiday, as it will be a good focal point to spur you on. Your husband will be amazed to see the changes in you when he returns in the middle of October. Like you say, lots of motivating factors to keep you on track.
Well done for keeping up your gym visits. You sound positive, and I wish you another great week ahead.
To loose like you have is an inspiration, and when you are human and it all goes to pot even more.
Last week I put on 1/2 Ib, know why had over eaten at sister in laws birthday tea. I was surrounded by cake, cheese scones, clotted cream and all good things !!! One thing I learned is that I eat to please and the awful bloated, full feeling I did not like and it was not worth the over indulgence.
I feel got away with it but did reduce daily intake and upped the exercise so a lesson well learned.
A younger model ?? think of all the training you'd need to do to get them to your way lol
Hi Lowcal. I only started on the 12 week plan last Wednesday but I think your Monday weigh-in is a great idea. By sticking to less than 1400 calories I have lost exactly 1kg since I started, that's 60.4 down to 59.4. So pleased it's working so far and looking forward to other benefits from the exercise classes I've started. Thanks for helping us to be accountable to each other and hope you have a good week.
I had some difficulties with my computer, so being a bit slower than usual to respond...! I think it's brilliant that you've lost 1 kilo this week, and you're down into the 50's now, what a great first week!!! Congratulations!
It's great to hear you've started some new exercise classes, and I hope you enjoy attending those.
I really enjoy this Monday weigh-in, and it's held me accountable for the past 2 years, and I've found it to be invaluable in keeping me on track. I love the fact people are so enthusiastic and supportive of one another. Really good!
Glad you're joining us, and hope you have another great week ahead.
Hi Lowcal, ouch take care of that knee. Don't forget the ice and do not overuse it. I speak from bitter experience. The weight gain will evaporate.
My own scales are dead this morning I may need new ones or batteries. Saturday morning I weighed 94.3 kgs which is down 700g from the previous week. cycling everyday, and gym visits, swimming and even some very slow walks. This week I hope for more of the same.
Thanks for your sensible advice regarding my knee. I am going to try to pace myself and not overdo things. I'd love it if the weight gain would 'evaporate' - sounds fantastic! I look forward to that process.
Sorry to hear your scales are dead this morning, and that you might need some new ones. Maybe try the batteries first. Cheaper option. Congratulations on losing 700 grams - you're likely to have lost more, but I'll take that as your weight-loss total for this week. Great that you've been cycling everyday, and I hope you enjoyed your gym visits, swimming and walks as well. Very slow walks sound good, as you can appreciate the scenery more, hopefully.
I enjoyed my breakfast thank you, and it is a beautiful morning.
Welcome to our weigh in. It is THE most wonderful support group you could ever hope for. We are all here to listen, encourage, support, advise, commiserate even! I know that I couldn't have done it alone.
NHS Choices Website and My Fitness Pal were my tools from the very beginning last June and have found that despite the up's and down's someone always has a kind word to see you through as it isn't easy BUT it is doable!
Take small achievable steps and small goals with rewards along the way and you'll do just fine. Good luck
A very warm welcome to you, and thanks so much for joining us for this Monday weigh-in. I've noted your starting weight, and I wish you a really good and enjoyable first week - are you doing the NHS 12 week plan? It's really good. I note that you are already using Myfitnesspal, and I think that's a great app - I love the way you can do little reports and graphs of your results on it.
Yes, you're right, a knee is definitely something to look after, and I'll try to pace myself and help it to mend.
Wishing you a great week ahead. Look forward to seeing you at future weigh-ins, and around and about in the forum.
Low-Cal l do hope your knee behaves this week. As Dave says we need to look after our bods. My brother had a replacement this year and found the whole process much harder than anticipated.
Boo sucks to a gain. I had a gain last week and it takes a good bit of self reflection to be ok about it (certainly I find), so hold on and move on! You are an inspirational member of this site.
Last week I was 10st 7lb
This week the same
Am thinking I may be naturally reaching my ideal weight as I have been bobbing around 10 and a half for a wee while now.
Good morning! I can imagine that a knee replacement would be a major undertaking, and I hope your brother is recuperating ok after that. I know you said he found it harder than he anticipated. I must look after my knee, as you and Dave and others are advocating. I twisted it whilst getting out of the car after driving. So easily done!
Yes, boo sucks to a gain, that's very well put!!!
Congratulations to you for maintaining your weight this week. That's a success in my book! I hope it is in yours too. No gain, staying the same.
Yes, maybe you are finding your 'ideal weight' and maybe you don't have much more to lose. How are you feeling at your current weight?
I feel fabulous. Having reached a point a year ago where I genuinely felt I was going to be entering middle age with a very soft middle it is the hugest injection of joy to be wearing old clothes again.
We do not have to be slaves to elastic waistbands if we are prepared to sweat a little and eat the food nature intended rather than the junk advertising throws at us.
Hi Lowcal, I am so sorry to hear that you have had an injury this week preventing you from working out which in turn has lead to a gain on the scale. It is however great that you can now bounce back from your injury and get out there again and hopefully shed some if not all of this by next weeks weigh in, but don't over do things to start with take it one day at a time and still give that knee some TLC
Weight loss this week 4.5lb!!!.... Over the moon as I cheated Saturday and ate 2 donuts!!!..... Was intending to work it off yesterday but hips and knees were so painful I couldn't move.... 1 of my best weight loss weeks xxx
Wow, many Congratulations on losing 4.5 pounds this week, that is amazing!!! As you say, one of your best weight loss weeks.
Sorry to hear you're experiencing painful hips and knees, and I hope you get some relief from that. Sounds like you need to rest and recuperate. Look after yourself.
Ah, Lowcal, I'm copying you! I can't seem to break into the 12s - this is week 3 of 13 stone 1, argh!! I'm sure its that I'm putting on muscle from the running, so hoping to see a drop next week...
I really empathise with your wish to break into the 12's, it is so frustrating to get close to it and then gain weight. But am I right in thinking you've maintained this week, and not gained? You've stuck on 13 stone 1 pound for the past 3 weeks if I'm right - yes, maybe you're putting on muscle from your running. Might be interesting to take your measurements so you can check what's happening that way.
I really hope you see a drop on the scales next week, but maintaining is positive, so Congratulations for that. Great that you're doing the running, and hope you're enjoying it.
Wishing you another great week ahead, and hopefully you will break into those 12's really soon!
I had a good week but a very bad weekend as we went camping and frequented the local pubs for a birthday meal out (husbands b'day!) and had to sample the local ciders! However still managed to loose a little bit. Weight last week - 87.1 and today - 86.6kg. Only exercised once last week, finally made it to the gym. This weeks target is to exercise more. Keep going everyone!
Thank you. It is already feeling much better, and I can do short walks again.
Great to hear you had a good week, and I hope you enjoyed the weekend celebrating your husband's Birthday. Sampling local ciders - how lovely!!! I think it's great that you've lost some weight - I calculate your loss to be 0.5 kg, which is really great! Congratulations!
Well done also for making it to the gym. I hope the session went well and that you enjoyed it. I find it challenging to get myself to the gym, it doesn't happen very often. Wishing you success with your target to exercise more. I think it's great to have weekly goals and targets to work towards.
Sorry to hear about your knee - hope it feels better this week....
Well..my first week and I have lost 5lbs and inches off my waist! - feeling great and it has given me the spur to go on....5 stone to lose but on my way..... been to the gym three times last week so I think that has helped......counting calories and planning your meals really does help...GOOD LUCK EVERYONE FOR THIS WEEK AND BE GOOD!!
Congratulations to you for losing 5 pounds in your first week, plus inches off your waist. That is such a great start, and it's fantastic to hear that you're feeing great - and feeling spurred to continue.
Well done for getting to the gym three times as well, that is great! It's good to hear you felt that counting calories and planning meals helps - I find those aspects helpful too.
Hi lowcal sorry to hear you hurt your knee hopefully you can get back to exercise this week I know how much exercise can help to keep you motivated . I've lost 2 1/2 pounds this week taking me to half a stone n two weeks. I'm really chuffed as decided to add strength training to my gym trips n was worried it might make me gain, glad it has not because weirdly I'm really enjoying it !
Thanks for you kind words. I agree with you that exercise definitely helps to keep motivation up. I definitely miss it when I can't do it.
Congratulations on losing 2.5 pounds this week. That is really great, and especially good to hear you've lost half a stone in 2 weeks. That's a great start!
Great to hear you've added in the strength training. Fantastic that you're enjoying it - that's how it should be really, exercise should hopefully be something you enjoy - I can hear the surprise in your 'voice' that you are surprised that you are enjoying it.
Sorry to hear about your knee, hopefully some gentle walking will help this week.
I have lost 3 pounds this week,I am definitely becoming more active had a few tricky moments in week (hormonal). However stepped up the activity instead of usual stuffing my face which makes me feel even worse, bloat gone today and planning my upcoming week,s activities.
Re checked my measurements, thought I would go for beginning of every month on the weigh in MOnday and absolutely no change!
Good luck to everyone again this week, this weigh in is becoming quite a focus in my weight loss plan,so thank you for taking the time to do it Lowcal!x
Yes, I will try gentle walking, definitely. Thanks so much for your kind words. I do appreciate them.
Congratulations to you for losing 3 pounds this week. That is really great! Glad you coped with your few tricky moments (hormonally), and managed to get through those. I usually gain weight when I'm facing hormonal stuff. I notice you used a strategy to cope, in that you stepped up your activity instead of eating more, and it sounds like it worked really well. I think you did really well to do that, as it sounds challenging...!
Glad your bloating has gone now, and you are planning your week's activities. Interesting that you've not seen any change in your measurements yet, but I'm sure you'll see some soon. Maybe next month.
I do enjoy doing this weigh-in post Floppy123, and I'm so glad you are finding it helpful as part of your focus within your weight-loss plan. That's good to hear.
Here's to a great week ahead for all of us, and wishing you another great week. You are making great progress.
Hi lowcal sorry to hear you have hurt your knee hopefully you'll be back on track next week. Hopefully you are not going to end up with two up dates from me as I hit submit but it didn't appear :-0 ive lost 2 1/2 pounds this week which takes me to half stone n two weeks, I'm really pleased as was worried I would maybe of gained as I added strength training at the gym. Am quite glad as bizarrely Im enjoying it gives me some motivation to keep going
Stayed the same again this week. My personal trainer, Henry the cocker spaniel, is back to full fitness this week, so lots of walks planned. I'm staying off the alcohol this week too, so hopefully see a loss next week!
Hope your knee improves, I damaged a ligament before, ice helped and plenty of rest. fingers crossed for a better week for you, and a quick recovery.
I am very happy to hear that your personal trainer, Henry the Cocker Spaniel, is back to full fitness this week, so that the two of you can get back to all those lovely walks. Congratulations for maintaining your weight this week - that's a positive.
Good luck with your goal to stay off alcohol this week. It sounds like there'll be a loss on your scales next week with that strategy, plus the renewed personal training with Henry.
Thanks for the supportive words regarding my knee. Very much appreciated.
Well, day one of a new diet and trying to shrug the "I've been here so many times before" inner voice of the yoyo dieter. Topped the scales at my highest ever this morning - 12st 5¼ and have finally got my head into the right space to give this another go! Daughters 21st party on 12th September and would like to reduce some of the lumps and bumps by then - aiming to be in the high 11's by the party and into the 10's for Xmas and to stay there throughout 2016! Porridge for breakfast this morning and off to fill my cupboards with healthy food and snacks. Looking forward to a thinner future and getting and giving support along the way. Good luck everyone this week!
A very warm welcome to you and thanks for joining us for this Monday weigh-in. You have taken the brave step of sharing your starting weight and hopefully will be lighter next week and on your way to achieving your goals. It'seems good that you have the incentive of your daughter's 21st on 12th September to work towards.
The NHS 12-week plan is really good and Myfitnesspal is a useful tool alongside.
Wishing you a great week ahead and hope to see you at future weigh-ins.
Lowcal
p.s. I think porridge is such a great way to start the day - hope you've found lots of healthy food and snacks to fill your cupboards.
Sorry to hear you've had a painful week with an twisted knee Lowcal, hopefully you will soon correct the small gain you suffered as a result.
I shed 1lb this week, I'm really rather relieved with that as I was expecting to maintain, so a big smile when I stepped on the scales this morning.
I'm going to have another big effort this week as those elusive 9's are just a tempting 2lbs away and I would love to have reached that point by next week, so focused on achieving that by next Monday.
Good morning! Thanks so much for your kind words concerning my knee.
Congratulations to you for losing 1 pound this week, that is really great! I'm glad you had a big smile when you stepped on those scales this morning.
Wow, the 9's are only 2 pounds away from you, that is definitely a tempting transition for you, and I am sure it will spur you on towards achieving it very soon.
Wishing you another great week ahead.
Lowcal
Hi Lowcal,
Sounds like you have had a bit of a week, I think you are right that your gain is a minor blip because of your injury.
Take it easy, a bit of Aquavit might be worth a try to help knee.
Love reading all the stats, it's amazing what is achieved.
Have a good week and know you will be back on track.😃
Thank so much for your kind words. I appreciate them. I'll look up 'Aquavit' as I've not heard of that. Thanks for the suggestion.
Yes, those stats are good to read - Suzybenj had that idea. She's definitely added an extra 'spark' to the weigh-in thread by suggesting it. She'll be back from her holidays in Spain very soon I think.
Thanks for your supportive post, and I will look out for your weigh-in post during the week. Wishing you a great week ahead.
Glad you told me that - I was wondering if Aquavit was some kind of vitamin 'solution' or something like that....!!! Glad to hear it's Aquafit, as I do know what that is. Good idea!
Yes, my knee does feel better - I'm hoping to do a few more walks this week, all being well.
Firstly, may I add to the fellow posters well wishes on your speedy recovery from your twisted knee and also thank you for the support and motiviation provided by your efforts in totting up the groups weight loss/gain results and other posts.
I have lost 1 1/5 lb this week which I am really pleased with, I was away on a hen party this weekend and although I managed to avoid the desserts and chocolate cake I didn't show as much restrained with the alcohol.
My goal this week is to increase my activity levels again, last week I enrolled at a pilates class and also did week one/day one of the C25K. I managed one kettlebell session and also a golf lesson so I did more activity than previous weeks but feel that I should be able to manage more this week/weekend.
Bring on week 3, I don't think I have every started week 3 of a diet ever so this in itself is an achievement for me.
Wishing you and all other members of the forum well for a good week.
Thank you so much for your kind words regarding my knee. It is feeling a lot better than it was last week - I am much relieved!!!
Congratulations to you for losing 1.2 pound this week, that is excellent! Well done for coping with the Hen Party on the weekend, and avoiding those desserts and chocolate cake - that is a definite challenge. I know you had some alcohol, but I think it would have been really difficult not to in the cirumstances, so hope you had a great time.
Well done for starting your Pilates class - I hope you enjoyed it. Well done for commencing the C25K, and doing that Kettlebell session. I remember you mentioning kettle bells last week, and you inspired me to get my kettle bell out and I used it a couple of times - it's really great for exercise. Thanks for inspiring me!
I hope your golf lesson went well too. You've certainly taken on quite a few things, and I think that's brilliant.
You mention that this is the first eating plan where you've achieved the start of 'week 3' so particular Congratulations on achieving that - it is great to hear you've been able to keep going.
I hope you have another great week ahead, and look forward to catching up with you at next Monday's weigh-in.
Congratulations to you for losing 0.75 pound this week. I know you said it is 'only' 0.75 lbs, but that is still quite a good amount of weight to lose - just try to picture it as some butter or lard on a plate, and you will appreciate how much it is! Definitely something to celebrate.
Also, you had a few temptations, and you still managed to lose weight - that is really great!!!
Not long now till your holiday - I hope you're feeling excited...! Good luck with your goal to lose 2.75 pound before then - hopefully you will get there - or as close a you can to it.
Great to hear you've had a good week exercise wise - cycling to work twice and swimming another 50 lengths sounds really good. Hope you enjoyed it, plus those walks too.
Wishing you a great week ahead, and I hope you have a fantastic holiday. Look forward to catching up with you when you're back.
Good morning everybody, well done on the losses and welcome to all the newbies. This truly is a supportive group and if you have the commitment, you'll find the support on here to help you through the tricky times. Lowcal's kind words are always a great motivational start to the week ahead, regardless of whether the weight God's have been kind on the scales or not!
I have to admit I feel quite a fraud this week. I had a lousy week feeling rough with swollen glands, sore throat and aching all over. I did absolutely no running and felt like a total failure with my c25k training. I ate and ate and ate. Throw in the mix a teething four month old (tomorrow), two hyper toddlers and more broken sleep than usual - I'm sure you can envision, I was not at my best!
All that being said, I've somehow managed to lose 2lb! I had totally written the week off, prepared myself for a gain mentally, physically felt like I had gained and lo' and behold, got the shock of my life this morning.
I hope you don't think I'm rubbing it in and actually complaining about a loss! Dear God, that would be ridiculous! Haha. I'm taking it - both hands running! I just thought I'd share how that sometimes, you think things have gone one way and those sneaky scales have a way of surprising you.
Anyway, I'm back to it this week. Running again today, I'm (stupidly) scared that I won't be able to run, after a week off - like my legs won't remember what I've been teaching them to do for the past month! But it's not going to stop me.
I half expect to gain this week even though I plan on being good, the 8's are on the horizon though...
I am so sorry to hear you've had a lousy week feeling rough, and that your glands have been swollen, and you've had those horrible symptoms. Sounds like quite a stressful week, alongside dealing with your hyper toddlers and teething 4 month old. How can you possibly describe yourself as a 'failure' for not running, when you've been contending with all of that. I think you are amazing to have got through it all - definitely a 'success' in my book. Your body probably wanted you to 'look after it' and signalled you to 'eat' - and it's good that you did eat, to help your body to fight that horrible bug you had.
Congratulations for losing 2 pounds after all of that. I can imagine it was a surprise.
I think you've given us an excellent example of how things can 'turn around' and bring unexpected results.
Good luck with your running today. I hope you're totally recovered from your sickness bug because it's not good to push yourself before you're completely recovered - so please do 'look after yourself' - don't overdo things until you're totally better.
Brilliant to see your total weight loss is 18.75 pounds - that is amazing progress, really well done.
Wishing you a healthy and happy week ahead. Hope you get a bit more sleep this week. Thanks for the very lovely things you said at the start of your post - they are much appreciated.
Lowcal
Hello all.
My first post today, having been doing the NHS 12 week thing for a week.
I think i was probably at my heaviest ever when i started last week, so I'm really pleased to say that I've lost 2.6kg in the first week - hoping to maintain the momentum for week 2!
Not quite up to running yet - I'm thinking that I might have a go at the Couch to 5k once I get my weight down a big more, to save wear and tear on my knees! (Still over 90kg at the moment)
But I'm aiming to get out walking on 4 days this week, which would take it to just over 150minutes.
A very warm welcome to you, and thanks so much for joining us for this Monday weigh-in. I hope you've enjoyed your first week doing the NHS 12 week plan - you've certainly had a great start, and many Congratulations on losing 2.6kg in your first week - that is phenomenal.
Great that you went out walking on 4 days last week, thereby achieving over 150 minutes, I hope you enjoyed those walks. I love walking - such a great way to exercise.
I hope you have another really good week ahead, and that you enjoy it. I look forward to hopefully seeing you at next Monday's weigh-in.
I'm new here and have just got through my first week on my weight loss plan and had my first weigh in this morning so thought this would be a good place to start.
I have a hell of a lot of weight to lose and sadly the magic weight loss fairies appear to have taken a couple of decades off when it comes to me so have resigned myself to doing it myself. Am delighted to say that I have lost 15 lbs in my first week which I am really pleased about. Yes I know a lot of this will be water weight but it has given me an initial boost which was very much needed.
Well done to everyone who is doing their best to get fit and healthy.
A very warm welcome to you, and thanks for joining us for this Monday weigh-in. It's great to hear you've just got through your first week and you're doing your first weigh-in with us. Wow, you have broken today's record for the most amount of weight lost in one week - 15 pounds is amazing. Congratulations! That is a great boost, and you must be feeling good to have lost over a stone in your first week.
I hope you have a great week ahead, and I look forward to seeing you for future weigh-ins, and around and about on the forum. It's a really supportive and friendly place, and I hope you'll enjoy being part of it.
Thanks lowcal def posted twice sorry! Nice to see so many people doing well! It's great that you have this weekly weigh in it def helps to keep me motivated. Really hope you can get back to your exercise this week , you are right I'm very surprised to find I'm getting the same feeling from strength training as I used to from my long runs bit to unfit for these at the moment but!! You are def right key to exercise is finding something you enjoy
I was 12.11 last week and am 12.10 tis week so have lost 1lb, I was hoping for 2lbs off but at least it's in the right direction. Going to stay with friends this week for a few days so would still like to lose a lb if I can or at least stay the same, can't watch everything when people are looking after you.
Congratulations to you for losing 1 pound this week, that's really good. I know you were hoping for 2 pounds, but you're half-way there, and as you say it's in the right direction.
Hope you have a lovely time staying with your friends this week, and good luck with your goal to lose a pound or maintain - it's definitely harder when you're a guest in someone's company.
Quick update- now back at work 😞. Weighed in this morn- 2 pound gain since last week- v annoying.
I am determined to be fitter and weigh less- so back on full healthy eating -and just signed up for the 12 min athlete app- which makes a lot of sense to me. So roll on next week- looking to be two pounds lighter!!!
Great to hear you're back safely from your holidays in Spain - you've done really well to only gain 2 pounds whilst on holiday. I think that's not much at all, and it will soon be off again, once you're back into your usual routine.
Great that you've signed up for the 12 minute athlete app - sounds quite intriguing. I might have to look it up...!
You'll soon get those 2 pounds off again, so here's to a lighter weigh-in for you next week. Wishing you a great week.
Lowcal
Only 6 ounces this week but an inch off my hips at least means that I now have to hold my jeans up with a belt - could be worse and I was so good too (about which I shall post separately).
Sorry about your knee LowCal - easily done when we exercise
Congratulations to you for losing 0.375 pound (I hope that's equivalent to 6 ounces) - it all counts, and it's great to hear you've lost an inch off your hip measurement. Having to wear a belt now to hold your jeans up demonstrates that difference well! I'll look out for your separate post, as it would be interesting to hear more about your week, and how it went.
Many thanks for your kind words regarding my knee. You're right, it was probably due to exercise.
So sorry to hear about your knee! Sounds painful twisting it, but I'm glad to hear you're all rested up. That's a shame about your small weight gain too, but at least you know the reason for it! Fingers crossed for you this week!
I have stayed the same weight this week which is a shame but also a relief ha! I'm glad to have remained the same rather than a gain. So I am still 12st 12lbs.
I have decided to start the 12 week plan again to give me a kick up the bum in time for the wedding next June! I want to be slim again! I WILL be recording a loss next Monday!
I hope everyone has a great week! Think lighter thoughts!
Thanks for your kind words about my knee. It is much improved now, which is a relief, but I'm being careful.
Congratulations to you for maintaining your weight this week - like you say it's better to stay the same, than to gain. Definitely!
Great that you have a renewed sense of focus, and you've decided to re-start the 12 week plan - that will stand you in good stead to get closer to your goals, and here's to a loss for us all on the scales next week!
Wishing you lots of light thoughts, and a fantastic week ahead.
Thanks for your kind words - I appreciate them. I am doing much better now thanks.
Wow, I am so pleased to read that you've had such a great first week and many Congratulations on losing 8 pounds - that is a phenomenal result! Really well done!!! I hope you enjoyed the week, and that you are feeling the benefits already of being over half a stone lighter already.
Sorry on you injured your knee. That will, as you say, have contributed to the slight gain this week. Hope the coming week sees the knee improving and you reap the rewards next Monday. Good luck.
Congratulations to you for losing another 2 pounds this week, that is so great! You're so close to being in the 16's, and I wish you a great week ahead, and hopefully you'll be celebrating entering the 16's next week, all being well.
Have another great week, you're doing so well. Glad you're feeling chuffed - it's a good feeling!
Lowcal
Hi Lowcal sorry to hear about your knee. I have maintained weight again this week.
Thanks, it is definitely a lot better now, although I've not really tested it out too much yet.
Congratulations on maintaining your weight this week - hopefully you'll see a shift on the scales again soon. Just keep on track, and I hope you have a good week ahead.
Sorry to learn about your knee - it must have been so frustrating for you having to rest when you've been doing so well. Hopefully this week will be better for you but go gently on your knee!
I've stayed at 10st 7lbs this week but I'm quite happy with that as I was baking and had to try out the new cooking chocolate - delicious but deadly! I have lost another inch on my hips and bust so I don't feel too bad.
Thank you - I am being careful with my knee. Just glad it's not in pain anymore.
Glad to hear you've maintained your weight, despite testing out that new cooking chocolate - that could have been a challenge, but you've done ok to maintain, so Congratulations! It's great to hear you've lost another inch on your hips and bust - that shows that your body shape is changing and those inches are reducing as you tone up.
Sorry it's not been a good one for you this week with your knee and a 2lb gain.
AccordNing to my scales I've gained 4lb this week which saw me weighing in at 11stone. Feeling pretty gutted as knew I had let things slip a bit but didn't think it was that bad!
Hoping to be back in the 10s next mon. Good luck everybody x
Sorry to hear you've gained 4 pounds this week, and sorry to hear you're feeling a bit gutted about it. I also felt a bit gutted to have put on weight, it's not easy to see a gain on the scales, but hopefully we can both get rid of those pounds next week, and you'll be back in the 10's, and I'll be closer to the 12's. We'll get there, just keep going, and focus on your goals, and think about the things that might have lead you to gain this week, and perhaps think of strategies to help those things be different this week.
I think you'll be back in the 10's very soon.
Wishing you a great week ahead.
Lowcal
p.s. Thanks for your kind words regarding my weight gain and knee.
It's still technically Monday, sorry about your knee Lowcal, your weight loves to hover as does mine😁I have put .5 lb back on this week so back at 11.1 blaming it on the beer festival that I was voulenteering for Thursday Friday and missed 4 classes this week plus insanity got cancelled AND we go to friends once a year, the dessert lady did two and we were expected to eat both! The Meuringue was lovely however I did decline the choux bun that was the size of a tea plate filled with cream and strawberries and covered in chocolate - before my course cheese and biscuits. So I guess I am quite pleased with that small gain Today did 29,500 steps as penance! Have a good week all and keep on track
Yes, my weight does indeed tend to 'hover' - it's been hovering around for the past year at least!!! But I think it's tough to maintain weight losses, and both of us have successfully done that for some time now, so I think we're doing very well...!!!!
Great to see you, and at least you've only gained 0.5 pound - that is very minimal indeed, and you'll soon shift it. The beer festival probably was the culprit, plus missing your 4 classes and 'insanity' - how could that dessert lady do two desserts and expect you to sample both - I can imagine that was tough to refuse...!!! But I see that you did successfully decline the massive Choux Bun, so well done!
Well done for your 29,500 steps penance - I am sure that exonerates you, and you'll be able to look forward to a very good week ahead.
