Last Monday I weighed 13 stone 4.4 pounds, and today I weigh 13 stone 4.2 pounds, so I've lost 0.2 pound this week. I am relieved to have some accurate scales, otherwise I might not have noticed any difference, but it all counts, however small...!
I have worked quite hard this week - I have done more exercise, and I've kept to my healthy eating plan. I would have liked to lose more, but I'm pleased to have lost something. I hope for a larger weight loss next week - maybe 2 pounds...! But I'll just do my best, and see what happens. Maybe I've gained a bit of muscle... (here's hoping)...
Here is a summary of last week's Monday weigh-in group stats:-
Total people posting on last Monday's thread: 41
Total people who lost weight: 24 (50.13 pounds lost) (22.74 kilos)
Total people who gained weight: 4 (12.88 pounds gained) (5.84 kilos)
Total people who maintained weight: 7
Total people starting out on their weight loss journey/plan: 5
Total people who didn't disclose their weight gain/loss: 1
Therefore, overall weight lost by the group = 37.25 pounds (16.9 kilos). Fantastic!!!!
I hope you'll join us for today's weigh-in, and good luck to everyone - here's to a great week ahead for all of us.

Well done on losing. You are getting so close to those 12's. Keep up the great work Lowcal.
Well last week I was 12st 11 lbs and this week 12st 9.5 lbs so 1.5 lbs off. Maybe a little disappointed as yourself as really stuck to a tight plan, plenty of exercise and no cheating but that's the way it goes sometimes. As you say, a loss is a loss. There was nothing that I can chastise myself over but still want that 12st 4lbs in three weeks time!!!
Shall just continue as usual this week and stay positive.
Good luck everyone and don't forget to reach for those dreams.
Congratulations to you for losing 1.5 pounds this week, that is a fantastic loss - and well done for sticking to a tight plan and plenty of exercise, plus no cheating - that's a success all round.
Yes, definitely stay positive, you are doing so well, and you're well on your way towards your goal.
1.5 lbs is GREAT considering where you are at - usually a pound would be good news so don't get down on yourself.
I know we always expect more but I think you should be really happy with that - it shows you are working and sticking to your eating plan.
And I KNOW you wanted that 1/2 stone off and you CAN still do it. Maybe few less carbs and (a trick I learned this week ) make sure there is 5 or 6 hours between your last carb and when you exercise - this promotes fat burning and might help to make a difference.
I have lost half a pound am over the moon as been really bad this week meal out... Bday BBQ and copious amount of wine!.... Back on it this week off to swimming and the gym now lol xxc
Congratulations to you for losing 0.5 pound this week, despite attending your Birthday celebrations - I hope you had a lovely time at your Birthday BBQ, and I am really pleased that you've managed to lose some weight - half a pound is really great.
Enjoy your swimming and gym, and hope you have another great week ahead.
Good morning, and Congratulations on losing 1.8 pounds this week, that is really great! Your BMI is so close to the 'healthy' range now - that's brilliant!!! Losing 5.7 pounds in 2 weeks is great progress.
Hopefully you'll be achieving your next goal this week, so wishing you good luck, and hope you have another brilliant week ahead.

Well done Yoyonomore - you've had a great week, what with the weight loss and fitting into THAT dress
• in reply to
That's so good that you're close to reaching a BMI of 24.9. Enjoy your week 3, have fun exercising, and keep trying that dress to see how comfortable it keeps getting
Well done Lowcal. And thanks for collating the results.
Morning LC- glad weight loss going in right direction📉. Great count up and it feels good to be contributing to the downward trend:-).
Under the banner SUZY CAN(thank you prin)- I have put a moderate amount of effort this week. Even with an overload at staycation weekend with family- I have managed to lose 1. 75 pounds. I am ecstatic. Definitely nearer 12 stone now.
What has made the difference this week - is really concentrating on not gaining weight and excersing at weekend. YAY- go me.
So I will aim for another pound this week. Enjoying exercise so will continue with that. Have also booked a treat of carribean holiday(OHs-retirement pressie)- so want to be able to get near a bikini- even if I don't actually wear one:-)⬇️✔️
Wow, Congratulations on losing 1.75 pounds Suzybenj, that is brilliant - as Prin rightly said "SUZY CAN" - You're closer to 12 stone now, and well done for focusing diligently on your weight loss goals and doing that exercising at the weekends. It's clearly paid off with dividends.
Great that you're enjoying the exercise, and also great to hear you've got that lovely treat of a Caribbean holiday to look forward to. Really good!!!
Hi Suzybenj, well done on your loss. I'm in the same boat, trying to lose weight for that bikini in the carribean but I spent too much time partying this week and gained 0.5 lb. I think I need some of your dedication to exercise, with the exception of pilates which I have started and really enjoy I can't seem to get into anything else and stick to it. This week I am not just going to talk about doing a HIIT session I am going to manage at least one and also one kettlebell session. Good luck with reaching your goal and getting in to that bikini. When is your holiday planned for?
:-)- I am up and down like a yo yo - but in a determined phase at present. Check out the 12 min athlete programme - tis what it says on the tin. I am trying to do two or three sessions of that a week. Coupled with hilly walks on party nights. Good luck
Weighed in today at 18stone 11. Keeps going up and up. I know why, very hard to get in the right frame of mind. Lots going on none of it exciting or stimulating, well will try again this week. Good luck to all. X
Good morning Heidi, I had weeks like that before I managed to start actually losing weight. Keep thinking and trying and good luck to you. Enjoy your week.🌻
But I have to ask you what you rplan is for next week. If you don't start doing something and putting solid boundaries around what you are okanning for the week it gets easier and easierf to gain.
Have a think about your food for this week and maybe even write down exactly what you PLAN to have each day.
Are you recording calories? Because if you are not its VERY hard to be accountable to yourself.
Get the Myfitnesspal app, start recording and MAKE yourself sit within the calorie goal for 3 days - you might be surprised about how easy it is.
A very warm welcome to you, and thanks so much for joining us for this Monday weigh-in thread. Sorry to hear that your weight has been tending to keep going up, and hope that you'll be able to get it onto a downward trend from here onwards. Like you say, getting into the right frame of mind can be one of the most challenging things.
Have you seen the NHS 12 week plan? It's a really good structured plan, and it's easy to follow. Definitely worth a look if you've not seen it. You can access it by clicking on the icon above labelled 'Weight Loss NHS' and then follow the instructions to find the plan. Let me know if you can't find it, and I'll give you the direct link.
Wishing you a good week ahead, and hope to see you in future weigh-in threads and round and about on the forum.
Congratulations on your 2 pound loss - that is fantastic! Well done for managing your calories and achieving a walk most days - a lovely long walk each day, that's really great. I hope you enjoyed those walks.
Good luck with the strength exercises - I've also been commencing those, and have found them great so far.
Thanks so much for your encouraging words - I do appreciate them. I would have lost hope in the past if I only had a miniscule loss, but these days I think it's great not to have gained anything, and so any loss is in the right direction. I think it's harder to lose when it's the final stone - and that's where I am at the moment!
I think the walking helps,if I walk the dog for an hour a day it really makes a difference, along with healthy eating. It does allow you to have a treat as well.
At the end of my first week I have lost 3lbs. My starting weight was 14 stone 12 lbs. Today 14 stone 9 lbs. I did weigh earlier in the week and it was a bigger loss , but hey! . I measured my waist and have lost an inch, 1/2 inch off my hips and the same off my thighs. I have had a couple of days when I have exceeded 1400 cals, so need to focus on that. I also need to drink more water. I have walked every day and yesterday went back to my rambling group (haven't been for months) and walked 12 miles....I need to get some resistance training in. Just need to keep the momentum going...Good luck everyone...Have a good week..
A very warm welcome to you, and thanks for joining us for this Monday weigh-in thread. I think you've had a fantastic first week, and many Congratulations for losing 3 pounds. Also great to hear you've lost an inch off your hips and the same from your thighs. It's good to see the changes in measurements - really good!
Well done for achieving your calories on the majority of days, and for walking every day - brilliant that you went back to your rambling group too - 12 miles is a long way!!!
Good luck with getting in your resistance training, and hope you have another great week ahead. Good that you're keeping an eye on your water intake, and ensuring you're properly hydrated.
Have a great week ahead, and hope to see you at next week's thread, and also around and about in the forum. It's a really supportive and encouraging place! So many fantastic people.
I also get on the scales and think 'fantastic' I am losing this week only to either stay the same or gain the following day - but have lost inches....we just have to keep ourselves motivated...I am going to up the exercise this week and really go for it...I must not weight myself every other day and wait until Monday morning and hopefully get a nice surprise!
A very warm welcome to you. It's great that you've joined us for this Monday weigh-in thread. I see you're also focusing on your water intake, so good luck with your goals to achieve that.
Wishing you a great week ahead. Are you also using the NHS 12 week plan? I would definitely recommend it, it's well structured and really good. Using an app like Myfitnesspal alongside it, is helpful, as it makes it easy to track calories and exercise.
Have a great week, and hope to see you again in a future weigh-in, and around and about on the forum.
Dipping is equally good! Glad you 'dipped in' to talk to us today, and any time you fancy a dip, we would love to see you!
Congratulations on losing 1.5 pounds this week, that is brilliant, and also very well done on your total loss of 5 pounds so far. Great plan to change one thing per week, and good luck with this week's habit change to look at your water intake.
Great that you use Fitbit to count the calories - I think it helps so much to have the technical help on that count.
Good to see you had a loss. As frustrating as 0.2 might be don't forget if you are doing more exercise you are putting ON muscle which weighs more. How do you feel? Probably a little brighter, lighter and a little more vibrant than last week?
I am starting to think its more about how we FEEL and less about how much we weigh. Try to remember how you felt BEFORE you started eating healthy and exercising.
I do - ugh!
Last Week 136.5 (301 lb)
This Week 134.5 (296.5lb)
Lost 2 kilos (4.5lb)
Only my 2nd week so I would have expected a decent loss. My scales were hovering between 134 and 134.5 so decided to go for the upper just in case.
Ate absolutely NOTHING apart from my planned food or healthy alternatives - this is unknown territory for me as I have never gone 14 days without SOME kind of comfort food since I was...god knows!
Still exercising hard and the internal argument trying to find reasons NOT to get out the door is getting less insistent - exercised every day.
My left knee is getting a little grumpy and stiff so, considering what I have planned for it for the next 12 months! have gone to the docs and am getting an ultrasound and xray Thursday. Hopefully its just a bakers cyst which can easily be dealt but other wise I'll be swimming and biking sooner than I planned.
Over all I am really happy with where I am at. And I feel AMAZING which is becoming more important to me than staring at the scales.
Remind me I said that when I am moaning in a few weeks about not losing!
That's great Dave - especially keeping up the motivation for healthy eating and doing the exercise. I think that's as important as the weight loss, as it's the hardest bit
Congratulations on losing 4.5 pounds this week, that is an incredible result! It shows how committed and disciplined you've been - I noticed that you've stuck to your planned food and healthy alternatives, and not wavered for 14 days - that is really amazing. Well done!!!
Sorry to hear about your knee, and hope the appointment on Thursday goes well and it's easily treated. At least you have a plan in terms of more swimming and biking if it's not quite as simple as a baker's cyst. Hopefully it is a cyst, and nothing more.
Yes, you're right, it is very much about how we're feeling in ourselves rather than what necessarily shows up on the scales - I definitely do feel more energised than I did this time last week, and I am feeling positive about the week ahead, and 'fitter' generally - so it's all good! Thanks for your encouraging words, and positive outlook.
I am thrilled that you're in such good spirits yourself, and if you end up moaning at any point, then you know we'll all be here to re-focus you, and hopefully cheer you up. You've certainly been cheering a lot of people up yourself this week, and I've enjoyed reading your posts.
Wishing you a great week ahead,
Lowcal
p.s. Also Congratulations for getting into the 200's - that is a great transition!!!
Shame your knee is complaining but it is getting a lot more use lately although I am sure it wold thank you for taking some weight off it and for the new shoes!
Hopefully your tests come back with a good result.
Congrats on going from the 300's into the 200's that's a fab result & a wonderful incentive.
I admire your focus & determination .. let's hope the knee is just having a 'hissy fit' & is nothing too complicated. Better to find out sooner rather than later so you can deal with it. Best of luck with the ultrasound etc.
Don't worry there will be plenty of us to remind you gently if you start moaning .. I can't imagine you will though you seem to have reached the stage where you are looking after YOU & will ensure you keep going until you reach your ultimate goal of healthy & happy.
Thanks Lowcal ... I have been weighing on a Thursday but I'm tempted to change it to a Monday so I can join in with this lovely group & be accountable as well
Well if you do decide to join us, you would be very welcome! If you stay weighing in on Thursday, then I'll look out for your post and wish you a good weigh-in for then. People weigh in on different days depending on preference. I choose Mondays because I find weekends more challenging, and it helps me to really focus on trying to be 'better' over the weekend than I would be if I didn't have the Monday weigh-in. It definitely helps!
Congrats on your 4.5lb loss this week Dave. Don't take it for granted or put it down to starting from a higher weight or still being at the beginning of your journey. You know you are putting in a lot of effort and being very disciplined - THIS is what explains your consistent and impressive rate of weight loss. Wishing you lots of luck for the week ahead. Maybe if you're exercising less this week because of your knee you may be surprised to see how effective your new healthy eating habits are on their own. Or you may find yourself purchasing a bike...
Well done on the loss - it is definitely going in the right direction!
I only had a small loss too if 0.4 lbs. I'm a bit disappointed as well but I know why...my friend came round on Thursday night and we had pizza and wine. I was good with the food and had a 1/4 of a pizza (it was one of those big pizza express ones) and filled up on salad but ended up having the half bottle of wine! Sent me waaaay over my calories for the day!
I also didn't have the best weekend. My boyfriend has been away all week so we went out of all Saturday day and then just ran in to Tesco's to get something for dinner that was quick. I can't believe how many calories are in the stuffed pasta - nearly 700 with sauce!
So I guess I know why the weightloss was only small - back on it today and will do my food shop for the week (usually do this on Saturday's!). I have done 2x HIIT workouts and 1x body combat so exercise front is going well. I'm hoping some of it is muscle too LowCal! I am feeling muscles that I never knew existed right now from the body combat so hopefully that means I am burning calories just sat here!
I had my first weightloss compliment yesterday too! It was from my boyfriend who said he thought I had definitely lost weight, especially round my middle We started talking about why it's working for me this time and we definitely think it is this forum and posts like this LowCal that make me responsible for my weight and everyone's inspiring posts. I usually would have fallen off the wagon by now but your guys have kept me on it :)so thank you!
Thanks for your kind words. Congratulations to you for losing 0.4 pound, that is great, and especially as you had a couple of more calorific meals - but I have to say I'm impressed that you did so well during that meal with the pizza and wine. You opted for reducing the pizza size and having some healthy salad alongside it, and that's such a great way to cope with that kind of meal.
Well done for doing those HIIT sessions and also the Body Combat too - sounds really good! Hopefully your muscle will be developing and you'll be toning up as a result. Hope you enjoyed those sessions.
I am happy to hear that your boyfriend complimented you on your weight loss, and that is such a nice thing to get a well deserved compliment like that.
I hopen you're still celebrating the fact you're into the 9's now, as that is such a great transition, and you have made really great progress. So well done, and hope you have another great week ahead.
Morning lowcal that's good that you lost this week , great that you been able to do more exercise and lose :-), I've lost 2lb this week so staying away from all the cakes n treats at work def worth it !!!
Congratulations to you for losing 2 pounds this week, and it shows that you made a good decision to stay away from all those cakes and treats at work - that must have taken discipline. It sounds like you've coped well with being back after the school holidays, and getting back to your usual routine.
Good on you - so hard to resist sometimes and you should be proud of yourself
Hi Lowcal and everyone
I'm sure that's just lots of muscle building up, and you'll see a more agreeable loss next week, Lowcal !
Start of week 2 for me and I've gone from 14st 4.6 lbs to 14st 0.2 lbs - loss of 4.4lbs
I've been really pleased with this week - not just the weight loss, but finding a plan of things to eat that have meant I've not been getting the usual hunger pangs, or worrying about food all week. Also, I've not really been able to exercise consistently because of the summer holidays. AND we went out for a huge lunch yesterday (Dad's birthday) which rounded off with some <whisper> chocolate fudge cake - but didn't eat anything else all afternoon and went for a good walk later - so no damage done, hopefully !!
Looking forward to week 2 results as hopefully my plan gives me a reasonable weekly loss of 1-2lbs (once the initial higher weight loss is gone).
Good luck everyone for this week and I hope those scales keep dropping for you all
Thanks for your kind words. I'm hoping I have more muscle...
What a fantastic result for you in your second week - Congratulations on losing 4.4 pounds, that is really great! I am particularly pleased to hear that you've found the plan relatively easy, and that you've not being getting your usual hunger pangs, or worrying about food all week. I know you were concerned about that possibility, and it's so great to hear you've found it much better than you anticipated.
Glad you enjoyed your Dad's Birthday celebrations yesterday - sounds like you 'worked around' it, in terms of minimising your consumption at the other points in the day, and doing some walking. Pre-planning and having strategies can definitely help with such occasions.
Well done Lowcal on weighing less today than you did last Monday. I know as well as anyone how important even the smallest amount means, I also know how frustrating it can be when having followed the plan to the letter and done as much exercise as you can then see a smaller loss than you were hoping, but it is a step in the right direction and that's what's important.
I felt quite nervous about weighing myself this morning but I'm pleased to say I've managed to shed a further 2.2lbs, I also measured my waist today and very surprised to see it's 7" smaller than when I started the plan at the end of March.
Have a good week everyone, keep up the fantastic results.
Congratulations for losing 2.2 pounds this week, and especially for stepping on the scales despite feeling nervous about it - I'm so glad you had a great result. Wow, your waist is 7" smaller than it was at the end of March, that is a significant change. Really good to hear.
Hey Jenever congrats on your 2.2lb loss. I was partly inspired to push harder last week by reading your post about just going back to basics and following the plan how you did at the beginning. Glad to hear this seems to have worked for you. Congrats on losing all those inches too - that's amazing
Thanks Ruth, it does feel pretty amazing. I bumped into my son-in-law while I was out earlier, he was so complimentary about the way I look it's given me a real lift.
I am so glad you would like to join the Monday weigh-in, and you are very welcome! It's good to hear you were following the group quietly, but even better that you've 'walked through that virtual door' and joined us! Hope you'll enjoy being part of the group - they are very supportive.
Just to say Congratulations for the weight loss you have made previously, I think it's great that you lost 3.3 pounds in your first 2 weeks. I know you put some on during your holiday, but it's unusual not to - at least in my experience - holidays tend to be times when we eat more and it often happens. The great thing is that you're back from your holiday with a positive and focused approach, and you have a good mind-set to go forward and achieve some weight loss going forward again.
So you've taken the brave step of sharing your initial weight with us here today, and hopefully you'll be losing weight from here on, all being well. Are you doing the NHS 12 week plan - it is very good, and definitely worth a look. I think your weight is written as 15 stone 3.6 pounds - needs a dot between the 3 and 6. But feel free to write in kilos if you prefer. I tend to use stones and pounds within the text of the thread, but I do try to include kilos in the group stats summaries, and I convert the weights accordingly if people do prefer to write kilos than pounds. So please use whatever feels best for yourself.
Wishing you a great week ahead, and good luck with your first goal. Look forward to hopefully seeing you next week at the weigh-in.
Good morning Lowcal, well done for eating healthily, for exercising and I am happy for you losing some weight. Is your knee now completely better?.
The stats are impressive and a fun way to start the week.
Last week I weigh 94.3. This morning I weigh 93.7. I am delighted to lose 600g. I ate properly and despite full time work I managed a record of 24 hours of exercise last week because I counted in decorating, spring cleaning and gardening.
Today is also the last day of the NHS 12 week plan. Beginning of the first week I weighed 100kgs. So I have lost exactly a stone. I have also lost 6inches off my waist and 4inches of my butt and have gone from a messy, straining size 20 to a comfortable and much smarter size 18.
I am just getting started.
My long term goal is to track all eating and exercise for a year and to keep at or below 1 ,350 cals net per day on average (1500gross) and to accept whatever weight I end up on that lifestyle .
Thanks so much for your kind words, and I am pleased to say that my knee appears to be completely better now, so I am very happy about that.
Congratulations to you for losing 600g this week, that is really great! You've done really well to manage to do so much exercise despite doing your work, and your home must be really looking good, in addition to yourself, this week as a result! All that decorating, gardening and Spring Cleaning. Must feel good to have achieved all of that.
Well done for completing the 12 week plan, it's amazing where the time goes! You've done brilliantly - losing exactly a stone, that's fantastic! Also, changing down a dress size (I hope you enjoyed wearing that dress to work last week - was it a swishy experience? I hope so!). Also, all those inches off your measurements, really great.
You have a great plan, and you're sounding really motivated and enthusiastic, and I am sure that will help a lot.
thanks Lowcal - your replies are amazing as always. I only found the energy to start on this properly after I found this Monday morning thread. I owe you all a LOT.
We are really glad you're with us Gonti. Every person here adds to the momentum and focus of the group as a whole - and you are a lovely person to have on board with us!
Morning all, well done on your small loss Lowcal. As you say any pounds lost are a bonus. Unfortunately, I have to record a 0.5 lb gain this week. If I am brutally honest I'm quite lucky to be recording such a small loss. Last week was really busy with social events (3 nights out) and although I did take your advice and decide what I was ordering from the menu for my meal out on Saturday, I wasn't quite so dedicated with counting the calories consumed in alcohol. I did have a really good week and enjoyed getting together with friends and family so the 0.5 lb gain was worth it, it could have been so much worse. Back to reality today, fortunately I have a pilates class tonight which I am really enjoying but I still need to up my exercise in other areas. This weeks goal, at least 2 other exercise sessions and lose 1 lb + to get me in to the 10's. Have a good week all.
It sounds like you've had a busy week socially, and I hope you enjoyed your 3 nights out. Glad you pre-planned your Saturday night meal with some pre-reading of the menu - that can definitely help! I think you've done really well to only gain 0.5 pound with those 3 nights out, so I would say that's a successful week, so well done for that!! Like you say, it could have been a lot worse, and 0.5 pound is a small amount of weight to gain - it should soon be whittled away with a good week ahead.
Glad you're enjoying your pilates class, and good luck with upping you exercise in other areas, as per your goal to do 2 other exercise sessions this week. Good luck with getting back into the 10's, hopefully you'll be there next week, all being well.
Well done Lowcal, as I say to myself any loss IS NOT A GAIN!! This is my starting week so here are my numbers height 5.7 weight 102kg BMI 38 I will weigh in next week 👍 keep going..
I am very happy that you've joined us for this Monday weigh-in, and a very warm welcome to you in your first week. Thanks so much for your kind words - I agree that any loss is not a gain!
Thanks for sharing your starting weight, and height too, plus your current BMI. Are you going to do the NHS 12 week plan? I would recommend it, and it's worth a look if you've not seen it. Let me know if you can't find it, and I'll give you a direct link, but it's easily accessed by clicking on the icon above which is called 'Weight Loss NHS' and following the links there.
Glad to hear you'll be weighing in next week, and will look forward to seeing you again then - wishing you a great first week, and good luck with your goals.
Thanks for the encouragement to 'keep going' that is such great advice!
Well done on losing 0.2 this week...keep it up...it will be worth it in the end....almost in the 12's....I have managed to lose 7lbs in 3 weeks, I thought I might have lost a little more this week but I haven't been to the gym as often and I have had a fab weekend in the sunshine....no alcohol though! I have to admit to a treat of Fish and chips for tea yesterday...well you cant go to the seaside and not have a little treat.....but back to it this week, hoping to make up for the naughty noshing.....wishing everyone a brilliant week....
Thank you! Those 12's feel like an eternity away to me, but I know they are within sight - I think they are 'tantalising me' sometimes - but one day I'll get there!
Well done for losing 7 pounds in 3 weeks. That is fantastic! I will divide that amount by three, so that I can put your 1 week weight loss into the group stats - i.e. 2.33 pound lost for 1 week - hope that's ok, if it's any different to that, let me know. You might not be able to know exactly how much you lost in just the one week, which is why I'm just dividing it.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the weekend in the sunshine, and that treat of the fish and chips too. It does seem to go with the seaside doesn't it.
Morning all! Some great positive vibes and support this morning! Well done Lowcal right direction! And well done everyone else.
i am pleased with 2lb loss so just back in 12s! Have to admit finding it harder latley. It is this Monday weigh in and support that is the difference, so big thank you! Realise importance of planning ahead as managed to deal well with hubbies birthday but not so good at weekend! Will be testing week as 2 day residential where cant cook own food and bbq and festival weekend. Heres to planning ahead !
Morning! Thanks for your encouraging words to us all.
Congratulations to you for losing 2 pounds this week, that is really great! Especially as you've been finding it harder lately. Glad that the Monday weigh-in thread is helping - well done for coping with your hubbies Birthday - such occasions are really challenging.
Sounds like you have quite a challenging week ahead too, so wishing you all the best with it, and try to pre-plan as much as you can, and think of strategies to help you through that. Hope the 2 day residential goes ok. Hope you enjoy the BBQ and festival weekend.
Maybe setting a goal to maintain your weight might be easier to achieve, than setting yourself a goal to lose. That's what I sometimes do when I know I've got challenges with the week ahead.
Wishing you a great week.
Lowcal
Good morning Lowcal, that's really good you've seen a loss this week to reward you for your increased exercise, I think it's definitely likely that this will show as a bigger loss next week. Last week I stayed the same and also wanted to increase my exercise and I've definitely been rewarded - I've just weighed myself three times to be sure, and it definitely says - 10st11. That's 6lb lost since last week, and well into the 10s now - I'm gobsmacked! I really upped my exercise this week and managed to get a very strong sense of determination about it, supported by the guys on here too, thank you so much! Altogether this week I had 4 days where I did a significant amount of cycling (26k, 20k, 27k and 26.5k) and also did 3 runs. My boyfriend's been really supportive coming for long bike rides with me (2 out of the 4), and I also combined 2 of my runs with visiting a 'free gym'. I've also stuck to 1400 cals or at least below 1500 cals every day except yesterday when I had a nice pub meal of fish and chips and cider, leaving half the chips and all the batter, bringing my intake to 1600 cals for the day. So a treat and I still lost 6lb! I'm in week 11, and only 4lb from my 10st7 goal, so anyone who feels things are slowing please feel encouraged! I will definitely be keeping this level of exercise up from now on, this is obviously what my body needs
WOW!!! That's an amazing result, 6 lb in one week. I gained 0.5 lb this week, all down to too many nights out but I really need some of your determination with the exercise. Good luck with the final 4 lb, you can do it. Your loss this week has already given me some motivation to get off my bottom and fit in more exercise than just one pilates class. Have a good week.
Well you're doing one more pilates class than me I'm an absolute exercise convert now. It may not work for everyone, but before I put the weight on I was very active, and I feel like I'm getting back there now. I'm sure a balance can be reached where you still get your nights out but stay healthy overall
I have to dash out, so I am going to respond to your post when I get back (which will be after lunch) - I don't want to rush my response, and I will look forward to 'speaking to you' later!
Lowcal

Wow Ruth you Rock! All that exercise cancelled out the chips and you lost 4lb. You are an inspiration!
• in reply to
I lost 6lb! Although 4lb would have also been amazing. As for the chips, they didn't even feature, they were prob cancelled out by half an hour of cycling earlier in the day
What an incredibly inspirational post to return to (I'm back after lunch - sorry had to rush off earlier). I am so thrilled to hear how well you've done this week - Congratulations on losing 6 pounds. I know you had maintained your weight last week, and I know you were disappointed about that, but it just shows what happens with a continued resolve to succeed, and you have worked really hard this week and achieved amazing results.
I calculated that you cycled 99.5k in total over those 4 bike rides. Wow!!!! Plus 3 runs as well in the week - amazing!!!
Glad you enjoyed that lovely treat of fish, chips and cider. Great combination! I often leave the batter too - and I've started just ordering a small portion of chips and leaving some too - very good strategy.
I am sure lots of people will be very encouraged by your post today, and it's really good to hear how well your week has been.
Thanks Lowcal, glad you feel inspired. I feel inspired myself. I think exercise and really knuckling down to keep to 1400cals a day made the difference for me. You'll laugh - I just measured my waist for the new week's food chart (starting week 12 now). I was expecting something amazing to go with the weight loss - but there was no difference! Funny how some weeks the weight changes, others the measurements, fit of clothes etc change, but it does all add up in the end.
I do like fish and chips. I put the 'best' chips on my boyfriend's plate when his start to go down - he doesn't complain - he knows I'm trying to lose weight or 'be healthier' but it's kind of an unspoken thing, and he's not a big eater himself but always loves chips. I find the smaller ones take longer to eat so I give him the bigger ones. That's good about ordering a smaller portion though. Whatever works
I wonder if a goal of 100k cycling a week might be worth wondering about, if that's essentially what I managed last week? I think that would be quite ambitious!
I think a goal of 100k cycling a week is definitely ambitious, but I know you could achieve it if you set it as a goal. You achieved it last week without even setting it as a goal!!! How phenomenal is that...!?
My measurements haven't changed for ages, but I have found that my jeans and trousers have been getting close to falling off sometimes! So I need to look at some new ones - the only trouble is I am tall and would need to get them online, as shops don't tend to stock them long enough for my legs! I'd prefer to be able to try them on - but I guess I'll have to risk it and order what I think might fit, and just send them back if they don't.
I've heard that Next do a tall range, but I've not looked into that yet - so maybe I'll try going there.
You've got a good strategy worked out with sharing chips with your boyfriend. It's definitely good to share.
Try uniqlo too. I noticed when you shared your measurements last week that you have quite narrow hips, and uniqlo are good for that style. Uniqlo jeans are usually 34 inch (length) and they do free alterations, although obviously they can't make them longer. They may do 36 inch (length) too, but they are generally good for jeans so definitely worth a look. Next are good too, they have a petite section and a tall section. I will be shopping for size 12 jeans soon (short-arse length ). Maybe next week to celebrate the end of my 12 weeks
Thanks for that recommendation. I found it really interesting that you described my hips as quite narrow - I've never thought of them that way, and I kind of like it...!!! Are you sure they're narrow - they're 40.5 inches. That sounds like a lot to me. I must admit I never really compare measurements with other people, as I am tall, and I don't know many people who a similar height.
I'll look for the Uniqlo brand, and will also check out the jeans in Next too.
Hope you find some great size 12 jeans next week, to celebrate the end of your 12 weeks. Exciting!
Oh fab, fab, fab! You've had a fantastic result and you so deserve it after all the effort you've put in. Well done your boyfriend too for being so supportive. Like you I'm very close to my goal weight, just 4.5lbs to go, it's such a great feeling...the sweet smell of success, I love winning! Keep up the good work and have a great week.
Thanks Jenever! Right, the race is on. Who can lose those 4lbs first! My bf is def supportive when it means extra chips for him but seriously he says I've definitely changed. It is an excellent feeling. The important thing is to keep that feeling in the weeks when you maintain/gain, as it's all part of the same journey
Hi Ruth, blimey what a wonderful result and triumph of great planning and sheer determination. You really deserve, I know how much energy you have put into this but still finding time to share advice and tips from your own learning. Go Ruth! 😀
Morning Lowcal.. its heading in the right direction no matter how small, think of all your achievements this week, those extra bits you did on your journey, these outweigh the scales.
Well that was my first week completed, I feel good being back in control of my eating. I still could have made some better choices but I didn't, the good thing is I didn't write off the whole day/week due to this. I had a few prebooked dates this week but couldn't put off losing weight anymore, something would always get in the way. I found my way around it at last.
I weighed 19 stone 3 at the beginning of the week and have just weighed myself and I'm 19 stone 1.5.
So not only have I lost 1.5 pounds, I've been to the gym 3 times amd got my life back in control.
So sorry I had to dash off this morning, but I'm back now, and I've just read your post.
I'm glad you found us in this weigh-in thread, and a very warm welcome to you. I'm really glad you joined us for this Monday weigh-in thread.
Congratulations on losing 1.5 pounds in your first week on the plan, that is brilliant! I know you had some pre-booked dates in your diary during the week, and so well done for coping ok with them, and achieving such a great start.
Well done also for going to the gym 3 times - and especially for getting your life back in control, as that is always an achievement in itself.
I can hear the positivity in your post, and it is infectious!
Well done on your weight loss - at least it's in the right direction. I have stayed the same this week, having lost 3lbs in my first week. My measurements are the same too which is a little disappointing as I thought I'd had a really week food and exercise wise. Hopeful it will show next week! Here's to a good week for everyone!
Hi Jillocee, don't be disappointed. I've had 2 weeks where I stayed the same and 1 week where I gained and they've all been followed by a good loss the following week. Use this week's maintained weight to spur you to just watch things a bit more closely, stick to your good intentions as precisely as you can, and keep being patient. The scales and tape measure will reward you for your hard work soon
Apologies that I had to dash off this morning, but I'm back now. Please don't be too disappointed by the fact you've maintained your weight this week, as you did lose a lot last week, and it is very normal to maintain after a larger loss, and sometimes even gain. But like Ruth says, just stick with it, and you'll see further losses on the scales, all being well.
You've had a good week food and exercise wise, so there's no reason that it won't show soon on the scales. Just keep going, and stay positive.
When maintaining - it means you've maintained your previous loss, and that's definitely something to celebrate in itself.
I'm afraid I'm reporting a poor performance this week:
Week 2 stats:
Starting weight: 12 stone 7.5lb Week 1 weight: 12 stone 6.5lb
Week 2 weight: 12 stone 6.25lb
Quarter of a pound lost.
My goal is 1lb per week so I have not achieved this.
I went away this weekend and I slipped back into my old eating & drinking habits. I didn't count my kcals on MFP and I drank far too much red wine when we went out!
Back on track today though. I hope you've had more success than me this week!
I'm back again, and sorry to have dashed off before I could read and respond to your post this morning - I have just read it, and I know you're disappointed that you didn't achieve the goal you had hoped for this week, but I would still like to Congratulate you for losing 0.25 pound, as it is still a loss.
Also, in view of the fact you went away this weekend and feel that you let loose a bit on your eating and drinking suggests that it could have been much worse - you still lost despite that, so you must have been quite good during the remainder of the week.
Even more important is the fact you are back on track today - and that means you're focused and motivated for a fresh week ahead. You lost 1 pound last week, and a quarter of a pound this week - just look at a pound and a half of butter or lard and think that at least you no longer have that weight on your body! Really good!!!
This is my second week posting, and I'm happy to say I lost 1.3kg this week which is 2.87 pound so now weighing in at 87kg or 13 stone 9.8 pounds total loss since March = 1 stone 9lbs.
I added some fitness apps to my smart phone MyFitnessPal and MapMyFitness, which has been great and a real motivator I can add my meals into the app and it counts the calories for me and tells me how many I have left for the day.
I went on to purchase a UP24 to also track how much walking I am doing which has pushed me to be more active, so far the only exercise I am doing is walking as I found out earlier this year I have arthritis so I'm taking it easy on my joints, which is the reason I am also trying to loose weight, only another 27 kg to go till I'm at a healthy weight.
I'm aiming to get another kilogram off this week, so time to cut down my sugar intake and drink more water instead of tea.
Good luck to you all out there this week, have a happy, healthy and successful time!
I'm back again now, and so sorry I had to dash off before I had time to read and respond to your post this morning. I've just read it now, and I am inspired by it - Congratulations on losing 1.3kg (2.87 pounds) this week, that is so great!!! You have made great progress to date, and really well done for losing 1 stone 9 pounds since March.
It sounds like you are well kitted out with some technical/digital apps, and it's great that you've been enjoying some walking. It's great that you've found a type of exercise to suit you, which doesn't put undue pressure on your joints.
Good luck with your goals for this week, in terms of reducing your sugar intake and drinking more water instead of tea.
Hi Lowcal and everyone. Thanks again for this opportunity. Haven't had chance to read everyone's replies yet -- slow wifi here - but I know you're all making progress. I can't be sure of an accurate reading on unfamiliar scales but as far as I can make out I'm 9st 1lb so continuing the happy trend of losing about 2lbs or 1 kg a week, hopefully.
Exercise-wise, I will have to content myself with walking until I get back home after the funeral but should be able to stay on track, give or take. Have a happy, healthy week, everyone! 😀
It's great to hear from you, and thanks for joining us this week, which I know is an emotional one for you. I hope the funeral goes ok, and I hope you manage to cope ok with everything. I hope you're with supportive family and friends, and I hope you have a safe journey home afterwards.
Well done for losing 2 pounds this week, that is really great! It's always a bit disconcerting when on unfamiliar scales, but hopefully they are fairly accurate.
At least you can do some walking this week - that is really good exercise, but I know you will be itching to get back to your exercise classes - as I know you were doing quite a few of those.
Today I am the same as lowcal with a loss of 0.2lbs...I am now 14 stone 8.8lbs lol
seems a bit lame but I haven't seen the 14 stone 8 range in a very long time. just hope my scales are playing tricks on me.
Well done to candystripe! I can't wait to get back to 12 stone 4! this is my aim by xmas.
There is an aqua gym at ritz carlton now available on Thursday evening so I am planning to go to that. I went once on a Saturday at 9am (sinfully early me thinks) and it was not very good, the instructor has clearly never done an aqua class, so hoping he will not be offended if I turn up Thursday evening with my own video based class and do it after his session.
I am thrilled that you are seeing the 14 stone 8 range this week, as I know you've not seen it for a very long time, and it just shows how significant losing 0.2 pound can be! Congratulations on losing 0.2 pound and on achieving a new weight range. You're on your way towards your ultimate aim, and you're giving yourself a sensible aim to get to your goal weight by Christmas.
The aqua gym sounds like good fun, and it's great that you're planning to go there on Thursday evening. I hope you really enjoy it. It's a pity that your instructor at the 9am Saturday class (well done you for getting to a class that early on the weekend by the way!) wasn't better. Maybe he'll get some pointers if he stays around to see you do your own video based class. Good idea!
I enjoy reading the stats from the previous weeks weigh in! Its so great that as a group we lose so much every week! I need to get back onto the losing side!
Unfortunately I have gained 1lb this week. So I am back up to 12st 12lbs again! But then, I know why I have gained this week. It was my parents anniversary and they invited me out to join them for a meal. Also, my mum had baked a cake which was unfortunate for me as I could not resist temptation. And I have had a few snacky days this week too and didn't keep on top of My Fitness PalPal logging at all so I couldn't see where I was overeating... I have disappointed myself, but I will be improving this week. No more slacking off!
I've had a nice filling breakfast of scrambled eggs this morning so I'm off to a good start!
My plan this week is to go to the gym at least 3 times and keep a better log of what I'm eating on My Fitness Pal.
I hope you enjoyed the celebrations with your parents for their Anniversary. I think a 1 pound gain is not too bad in the circumstances, but I know you are disappointed. It can be very hard to resist temptation when you're offered a delicious home-baked cake, especially when it's your Mum that's offering it to you, to celebrate a special occasion.
But what I hear within your post is the determination to go forward this week and have a better week - as you say 'no more slacking off!' - you've had a great breakfast to start the day, and I hope you've also had a tasty lunch too.
Good luck with your goals - and hope you enjoy your gym sessions.
I appreciate your encouraging words! You always know just what to say! I will be doing my best.
I had a nice brown bread sandwich for lunch and some fruit. Although, I almost fell off the wagon again in Asda on my lunch break! I was on my way getting some vegetables for tea tonight and on one of the isle ends there were cakes and deliciousness! I put a box in my basket, stood there for a minute and took it back out! I managed to leave the store with nothing but healthy options! It was a proud moment for me!
So, with all these vegetables, I am giving this new thing a go for tea tonight. I've seen a lot of recipes online for courgette spaghetti! I'm looking forward to it now! Hopefully it will be delicious, as I do love my pasta!
That's amazing, taking the box of cakes out of your basket and putting it back on the shelf. If these thing aren't around, you won't be tempted to eat them, it's as simple as that! Good luck with the courgetti spaghetti
Yes, I agree with Ruth, that was really good that you were able to take those cakes out of your basket - definitely a proud moment with a basket full of nothing but healthy options - well done you!!!
I'd be interested to hear how you get on with the courgette spaghetti - sounds delicious! Hope you really enjoy it.
Hi Sophie. Have made spaghetti out of courgette, carrot & parsnip mix. I just don't buy pasta any more as the veggies are much tastiertastier. Hope you enjoyed it.
I made courgettI for the first time last week and really enjoyed it. I even substituted half the hubbies spaghetti with it and don't think he noticed. Lol
Good morning everyone and well done on your weight losses especially to Ruth who has tried very hard this week and thoroughly deserves her massive loss. To those of you who haven't lost or who have gained, don't worry, it will happen just never give up.
I have lost 0.6kg this week.
6.9kg in total.
1.1 kilos to go before I reach my target but it is taking a long time.
Am feeling down however as I have developed tendonitis in my ankle which is a recurring problem and not only is uncomfortable but severely hinders exercising. I know you don't need to exercise to lose weight but it's more important now for my health that I exercise than I lose weight
Have a good week everyone, hope we are all closer to our goals next week.
Congratulations to you for losing 0.6 kg this week, that is really great! You're getting ever closer to your target, but I sense your frustration that you feel it's taking a long time.
I am so sorry to hear that you've developed tendonitis in your ankle. That must be really difficult to cope with, and I know it's making you feel down and hindering your ability to exercise. Maybe there are some specific exercises you could do that avoid using the ankles.
I hope your ankle improves this week, and I hope you have a good week. Yes, let's hope we're all closer to our goals next week.
Hi Alex7ra, sorry to hear you've got tendonitis. I'm sure you know the drill, wrap in ice and do heel-drop exercises, don't put too much strain on it before it's healed, etc. Also there are non-weight-bearing (not on your ankles at least) exercises you could still do like (gentle) cycling or swimming (can you swim?), or the rowing machine I tried on Sunday works with you sitting down, I think there are loads of things like that, sitting down exercises on youtube etc. Maybe see the period of recovery for the tendonitis as an opportunity to try something new
Congrats on your weight loss this week too, and good luck for your last 1.1kg and maintaining your exercise at the level you want to be doing it
Thanks Ruth. Unfortunately the tendonitis is a recurring problem. Last time I had an injection before it went away. Both swimming and cycling inflame it as does pretty much everything. Have it strapped up and covered in anti inflammatory gel and icing it in the morning and evenings. Have a pilates class this evening and will just have to adapt some of the exercises.
Someone at work has just given me a massive bar of toblerone as a thank you, eek
Oh that's very annoying then - you'll have to be very creative to get round it. Hopefully the teacher leading the pilates class should be able to help you adapt things. Good luck waiting out the recovery in the meantime! Toblerones are rubbish - they're impossible to bite and they taste disappointing even after all that effort. Maybe put it in the freezer to make it even more impossible to eat and give to someone else unsuspecting as a thank you present another time, maybe it's already been passed between a few people already...
What a good result the group had last week, I think a lot thanks needs to go to you for all your encouragement. Well done on your weightloss this week, as you say only small but in the right direction.
I have had a better week this week, last week I was 12.10 and today 12.8 so 2lbs loss, really pleased, have had lot,s of walks with the dog and ate healthy except for a takeaway curry and a few glasses of wine, but cut down inbetween to compensate.
Thanks so much for your kind words, which I appreciate.
Glad to hear you've had a better week this week, and Congratulations on losing 2 pounds, that is really great! I hope you enjoyed all those walks with your dog, and it sounds like you ate really healthily. Good you also enjoyed the takeaway curry and wine - it shows you can still enjoy treats and compensate by cutting down at other times in the day or week.
Good luck with your goal for this week, and hope you have another great week ahead.
Weight Last week 85.5kg and today 83.6kg. On a roll with the 13 stone barrier in sight! Managing to exercise more, been swimming 4 times and gym one. Finding it better to go to the gym at night, as it stops me watching tv and eating chocolate breaking the bad habits. Have struggled a couple of times where I could have committed a crime to get hold of a chicken and mushroom pie, chips and gravy but resisted! I really want to be under 13 stone that is my motivation. Good luck every one, please keep going and we will all get there, no pain without gain!
Congratulations on losing 1.9 kg this week (I hope I calculated that correctly - please correct me if I'm wrong - Maths is not my strong point). Great that you're on a roll, and that the 13 stone barrier is in sight.
Fantastic to hear you've been enjoying exercising more - all those swims and the gym too. Really good! I especially like what you wrote about going to the gym at night, and it breaking your previous habits to watch TV and eat chocolate - sounds like a very positive change.
You made me laugh when you said about potentially 'committing a crime' and getting hold of a chicken and mushroom pie, chips and gravy - glad you resisted it though, as you have being under 13 stone as your motivation (I have exactly the same motivation as you - that is my magic barrier I want to get below) - like you say, if we keep going, we will all get to our goals, all being well.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you will return from your camping trip in the high 16's. Well done for maintaining your weight - it is much better than a gain, and it's an achievement, so please try not to be too disappointed.
I hope you have fun on your camping trip. Look forward to catching up with you when you get back.
Wishing you a great week.
Lowcal
Well done Low Cal. I managed 14 oz which is2 more than last week and equivalent again to over 9000 calories for each pound so hard work. . However, well worth the effort with half an inch off all my measurements and at last a BMI under 28. We shall all get to where we want to be eventually
Congratulations for losing 0.875 pound this week - that is really good!!! Also, great to hear you've lost half an inch off all your measurements and that your BMI is under 28. It is really great to see continued progress, and you're doing really well.
This thread is full of inspiration and determination. It's infectious, I love it!
I had a great week 2, losing another 3lbs and taking me down to 11st 2.6lb. I ramped up the exercise this week and did lots of batch cooking in advance to deter me from temptation.
Last week, I though I could be in trouble, as a colleague returned from a business trip with a big box of chocolates for me. I panicked for a second about how to handle it... then I slowly went around the office and offered everyone (especially the secretaries!) the chocolates, until there was just one left... then I returned to my office and had that last one (70cal - I checked the box) with a cup of tea. Crisis averted! I felt a bit guilty about force feeding everyone, but they all seemed delighted. I was a real rascal saying things like :"take two! have one later!" hehehe! And the secretaries have been really nice to me all week!!
Having lost 6lbs in the first two weeks, I expect the losses will slow down going forwards, but I certainly won't!
I like to think of your name as something like 'Mesh It' - i.e. putting something together and mending. Just wanted to share that thought with you!
I am so pleased to hear that you've had a great second week - Congratulations on losing another 3 pounds, that is really great!!! You are getting close to the 10's. Exciting!
I am also very impressed with how you handled the large box of chocolates scenario - we've already been discussing the merits of sharing, and you've shown that you've had that 'sharing spirit' and you were left with just the one - which hopefully you enjoyed with your cup of tea. Remember, you weren't actually 'force feeding' the others, because basically they can always 'decline' and maybe some of them saved the chocolate rather than eating it themselves. You never know...!
Ahhhh, now I realise you were perhaps a little guilty of some elements of 'force feeding' as you were egging them on to take more... I'm laughing now...
I expect the losses will slow down now, as you are more established into your healthy eating plan, and that's perfectly normal. Glad to hear that you're not planning to slow down though, you sound energetic and positive, and that's a great mindset going forward.
Thank you so much for you lovely words! My "real" name is Michelle, but when I was little, people used to call me Meshy... then it just became Meshyt. I like your thinking: Mesh it!
Congratulations to you for losing 2 pounds this week. You're making consistent progress, and it's great to hear you've lost 15 inches off your measurements too.
Glad you're still continuing with the plan, and that you are continuing your weight loss journey - I don't see any evidence of 'weak will' there!
Wishing you another great week ahead, and hope you enjoy Week 9.
Ha ha - I'm laughing too now I did think it was a big measurement change!
Exciting that you've come back from 4 months overseas. Hope you cope with getting back into your usual routine, and brilliant that you're into the 10's now.
Hello All, just got back from a week's camping ... So 2 weeks ago I weighed 15st 2.75 lbs and today 15st 4.5 lbs, so a 1.75 lb increase 😈. I chose not to limit myself too much although it was more of eating food out that was the problem. It's done now, and I'm back on the healthier options and feeling better for it.
Welcome back from your holiday - I hope you enjoyed it, and that the weather wasn't too bad. It's understandable that you've gained some weight because it's very unusual to lose whilst away on holiday - I rarely see that happen, unless someone's gone on a 'bootcamp' kind of holiday.
You've not gained very much, and that 1.75 lb gain will hopefully soon be gone! You're back on the healthier options and I'm so glad to hear you're feeling better for that already.
Evening lowcal and everyone. Well done to all the losers! Well it was my first week back on the nhs diet and with 3 trips to the gym im so pleased with my 3lb loss this week. I know ive been extremely good this week just really hope i can stick with the routine. Good luck everyone for the following week!
Congratulations on losing 3 pounds this week, in your first week back on the NHS healthy eating plan - that's so great!!! Brilliant that you also made 3 trips to the gym. That's such a great start.
Good luck with sticking to the routine for next week, and hope you have another great week ahead.
I weighed 61 kg last week and this morning its 60.4 kg, so I lost 0.6 kg. Though I could not maintain healthy eating to that extent but I completed the week 1 of C25K run. I hope to be more strict on healthy eating this week and continue with the C25k running. I dont eat much and always eat within the range but I think I need to burn more to lose weight and thats the difficult part.
Congratulations on losing 0.6 kg this week, that is really great. Also, great that you completed week 1 of the C25K run - I hope you enjoyed it.
You mentioned that you hope to be more strict with the healthy eating side of things this week, and continue with your C25K, so wishing you success with that. It can be challenging, but stick with it, and I'm sure you'll see further results.
Weighed in at 12 stone 4lb last week after a weeks holiday where we ate and drank lots. I joined weight watchers online, great app where you can track all your food, and joined the gym. As I'm not at work I am active instead of sat on my huge ass all day in front of a computer screen, only two weeks to go though until I'm back there. All this has contributed to a huge loss of 7lb. Feeling really motivated but realistically aware there will be no loss next week. Hope I can keep motivated then.
Was really glad to find this thread, need some support and have no one to help me.
A very warm welcome to you, and thanks for joining us for this Monday weigh-in thread. I hope you enjoyed your holiday.
You've made some positive changes, and it's great that you've found an app to track your food. I used one called Myfitnesspal, which is really good. Definitely an advantage to have an app to help with the tracking etc.
Congratulations on losing 7 pounds - that is a huge loss. Great that you're feeling motivated, and you're probably right in assuming there may be limited change next week, but hopefully you'll maintain your loss and be able to move forward positively.
Enjoy the remainder of your holiday, and hope you have another great week ahead. Look forward to catching up with you at next Monday's weigh-in.
Thanks for the reply and encouragement, will definitely weigh in next week and hopefully become part of the community..... That's if I ever learn to navigate my way round it, not very clued up with this. Lol.
That's great, and I hope you'll enjoy becoming part of the community within this forum - it's a friendly and supportive one. I'm sure you'll get better at navigating your way around it, as you get used to it.
I know you've joined the Weight Watcher's online resource, but you might also like to look at the NHS 12 week plan - because it is a very well structured healthy eating plan, and quite a lot of people are doing it within this forum. Here's a link, just to make it easier for you to find it - if you do want to take a look.
Phew, after being away for a special family occasion and enjoying the food offered I am delighted to have stayed at 14st 9lb (mind you, it was a very hectic few days). So today I am back to behaving!
I hope you enjoyed your trip away for the special family occasion - well done for maintaining your weight despite a few hectic days. That's definitely a success.
Hi Lowcal, well done for losing 0.2 pound this week I'm really pleased for you it's also great to hear that you have done more exercise and stuck with you healthy eating plan. I on the other hand have been away in Blackpool. It was a surprise holiday courtesy of my mum for me and the kids so I have missed Sat's weigh in and just catching up with some of the posts this wk. I have not been able to access the site as my computer seems to be playing up and still is so we will see how I get on.
I hope you lose those 2 lbs this week, that is the same number I am hoping for this week.
Thanks so much for your support and encouragement, which I really appreciate! Glad you had a nice time in Blackpool, courtesy of your Mum - a very thoughtful present from her.
Glad you can access the site again, and let's hope we can both achieve our goals to lose 2 pounds this week! We can do it!!!!
It's great to see you! You're doing really well to have lost 10 pounds in the last couple of months. That's really great! I won't add your weight loss to the stats, unless you know how much you've lost in the last week - as I only count one week's weight loss in the stats. So if you do know how much you lost in the one week, let me know, and I'll add your loss to the stats.
Sorry to hear you're laptop is on the go slow - I know how frustrating that can be, and I am just relieved that my laptop seems to keep going on Mondays, otherwise I'd never manage to respond to everyone who posts on the thread - it is definitely busy. I really enjoy catching up with everyone though, and am pleased that people pop by to weigh-in.
Hi I made a feeble start on the programme in July, lost 3lbs first week then change of routine lead to me not doing it properly (again). I would like to start out again tomorrow and will need tons of support and encouragement to keep going so hoping that joining the weekly weigh-in will help to keep me motivated. See you all tomorrow!
Really happy to hear you'll be joining us for tomorrow's Monday weigh-in. Hopefully being part of the group will help to motivate you - I'll look forward to catching up with you tomorrow!
