I am new here .I did Weight Watchers and I lost 26 pounds,20 of which I have regained in the last two years since I gave up smoking .I have lost motivation , particularly in this year when there have been no live WW weigh in and meetings .
However I am starting today to try again and loose what I have gained .
Any tips to try and stay focused would help .I am 70 and I walk 40 minutes per day.
I used to swim 4 or 5 times a week but not able to do that now pools are closed I have a back problem and cannot do any exercises that involve getting down on the floor .

Hi Spellbrook and welcome to this amazing forum. I suggest you spend some time clicking about to find your way around. It's easier if you have a lap-top as there are several threads. If you’re using another device I strongly suggest that you use the web page as opposed to the app at least until you know your way around.
I'm nearer 70 than 60 and I spent a couple of days just clicking about.
Have a good read of the pinned post “Welcome Newbies” and follow every thread.
I strongly suggest you read and contribute to the Daily Diary and participate in a Weekly Weigh in.
You will find there's loads of tips about better eating, from other members. Sharing your daily menu not only helps you stay committed, it can help other members too.
Hi and welcome. I personally find being part of a weekly weigh in group to be motivating. Just choose which day you want to weigh in and then weigh in on the same day the following week. I’m also doing the Autumn challenge at the moment and find that keeps me focused and motivated. There are still 4 weeks to go on that so it would be worth joining. You could weigh in today and then again on the same day next week. Just weigh in now with your starting weight. Very best wishes on your weight loss journey.
Hello and welcome. A lot of people say that planning and accountability are very important therefore daily diaries and weekly weigh ins are very good tools on this forum. For me personally, however, accountability to other people it’s only the surface. I know that I could start hiding from other people and do something in secret (I’ve already done a lot of secret eating in the past). That’s why for me the things shifted only when I promised to myself to record what I eat (however bad the amount gets) and to weigh myself once a week (however bad the week was). All in all, it’s probably a combination of various things. I find the forum very useful and people are very supportive here. I find my own acknowledgment of my daily achievements, however small, very powerful: if I’m happy with my food choices and amount of food eaten, I don’t get too upset if the scales don’t shift much on some weigh-ins.
