So I just had two really bad days and I mean really bad. Over 4000 kcal of mostly rubbish food on both. However I’m trying to stay positive and in my head that tomorrow is another day and another chance to be a better me.
And as I am here going through everything I’m starting to notice a pattern here.
It seems that when I’m busy at work and when I forget to bring food with me I just get thrown off the track completely and majority of time I can’t pick it back up straight away.
So really what I’m trying to get to is some advice, what do you do on those days when you get home from work and just can’t be bothered with anything anymore? Any tips on eating on the go would also be very much appreciated. 😇

Hello Stanka303 and welcome to this Forum- things tend to get a mite quiet on here at this time or you'd have had several replies with suggestions within seconds! Working lunches and easy to prepare evening meals, yes, can be awkward but one of the best ways of coping with these situations is thinking ahead and a degree of planning. This site's Daily Diary page helps for planning and swapping ideas. I struggle with lunches on my work days and have never been able to keep to taking a lunch into work regularly mainly because I feel the need to get out of the office for a break! But I've managed to work out ok places/cafes to go (best are ones serving fresh food)and what foods I should be avoiding (not with high sugar or high carb content). There are loads of meal suggestions (and recipes) on here which you'll discover as you explore and join in...
Here's a link to our Weight Loss Forum Site Guide which we strongly recommend you read as it will help you find your way about and it provides other links on security, picture guides on navigation and other useful info'
Please note, don't use the HU App, it is much easier to use the website!
There's a lot there but it's worth taking your time to read, honest!
We recommend that members join a Weekly Weigh-In, on the day of your choice, and also use the Daily Diary, where members share their meal plans and get useful feedback. They are found under the headings Pinned Posts or Events(see site guide link above)

You’ve just had great advice from Diane2. Start reading on here as ideas opera how to lose weight have changed in recent years. You are right to stay positive. I’ve eaten junk food all my life and have been almost free of it for 6 weeks now. That is due to the support and knowledge I acquired on this site.
I strongly suggest that you make meals that last a couple of days or alternatively, cook up a batch of food over the weekend or on your days off. These are then ready when you return home exhausted. I don’t rely on finding healthy food in the vicinity of my work but take healthy choices with me.
Well done Stanka for coming here and not letting those two days sabotage your ideas of improving your health.
Allowing ourselves to become hungry is one of the main causes of overeating. This is one of the reasons that we should concentrate on eating well whilst losing weight. Eating well at each mealtime is important.
To answer your question... plan food so that you can eat at work and batch cooking healthy, tasty meals for the freezer I've always found is key for me, when I come home from work, too tired to face doing anything.
Many of us use the Daily Diary on this forum to plan each day's meals. Plans cover more than what we eat at home but what we are going to eat at work, at a restaurant, wedding etc.... Writing these down in advance is a good way of organising and sticking to what we need to do.
Like everyone else I batch cook/prep as a rule for meals.
If I know I’m of the frame of mind that I want to snack I have several things I enjoy that are around 100cals each in supply in the house. Usually smaller portions of things I love or new healthier things I’ve found.
I generally allow myself one a day after tea and plan it as part of my daily allowance. If I know I’m feeling snacky or can’t be bothered cooking I can have a fair few of those without totally blowing my day or plan away. If I want anything more than those I walk the mile to the shop to get it while drinking water! That usually changes my mind lol
I also log everything I eat - that way I can see when I am on track, over and slowing my progress or over and gaining/impacting the work I already put in. Somehow this really makes me focus my choices.
The main thing is your here and still trying and identifying where you have a problem. Good luck and keep trying!
When you get home from work, and cannot be bothered - do not eat... but, not eating meals can result in snacking.
If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.
Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
I know it is not an original thought but batch cooking works for me. I don’t like cooking but a slow cooker and one pot recipes have helped me a lot. I feel good during the day knowing that I am going home to a healthy, tasty meal that just needs heated up. It really is worth the effort.
