Hello Snubby and welcome to the forum,

I am not sure which app you are referring to - is it the NHS 12 week plan?

You sound very happy with it. Did you come to the 1600 calories by using the BMI calculator?

'Only' lost 1lb, 1lb is brilliant, that is 2 packs of butter. We do not advise loosing weight quickly, it has a habit or returning just as quickly, you are doing great:)

If you haven't already, please take the time to read the Welcome Newbie post, this will help you to navigate the forum, which is best done using the full website and not the app.

Please also take a look at all of the Challenges, Clubs and Events that we have, to help to keep you motivated and engaged with the forum.

The above link will take you to all the information you need. Participation is key to success and I would recommend that you at least join the Daily Diary and a Weigh In day of your choice.

As a peer to peer support group, we all benefit from encouragement and support from one another, so look forward to seeing you join in around the forum :)

If you haven’t already taken it, here is a link to a tour of the forum,

One pound is great! I’ve started last week and am also planning to gradually reduce my calorie intake. I’ve started on 1600 (based on my BMI). That seemed to be more than I needed and as I relaxed the calorie intake over the weekend, I actually gained a little. So I am very gently reducing it until I get my head around the calorie counting (this time including the weekend!). I’m on 1550 this week and aiming to fit in more activity this week. Having done other plans before, I agree with lucigret that slow is good and one pound is a very good start! Good luck on your weight loss journey.

Yes over my lifetime I have tried every diet going and taken lcd to the extreme losin 3 stone then gaining it agai

In the 18 month period before lockdown I lost 32 pounds and didn’t gain or lose through lockdown ,pleased with that ,and that was by count calories and allowing myself 2000 a day

I still want to lose 10 pounds so going with 1600 will adjust has needed ,l

Nice to have someone to share it with ,and love reading others stories ,keep with it everyone ,,I find it’s perseverance and don’t beat yourself up over the odd blip 😉😉
