I am on a mission to lose 30lbs. I'm currently sitting at around 164lbs and the goal is 135lbs.
I feel like I have been trying to lose this weight forever, I've been trying for a year now, and the lbs just don't seem to drop. My inches do but my weight doesn't. I'm a size 10/12 top and size 12 bottoms so I'm not particularly large. I'm only 5 foot 2.
I am very active, my average daily steps is around 18-20k. I ride horses, walk dogs. Have a very physical job at the weekends at a yard with horses. I struggle to fit in other workouts between the kids, keeping the house, horses and dogs.
I eat well, try to keep low carb and cook most everything from scratch. I try to stick to around 1200cal a day, I could probably do with dri King more water. I used to find intermittent fasting quite helpful but at the minute I've been so busy I'm very tired so finding it harder to find the energy to fast.
I'm hoping someone might have some tips for me....i really need this weight off and it's like fighting a losing battle. Its not for looks, its to broaden the different horses I ride and to help ease up pressure on my knees.
Huge thank you in advance

It's hard to say what's not working without knowing more about what you're eating. The Daily Diary would be the place to post your meals and to get useful feedback.
As you mention reducing carbs, you may be interested in this guide: it's a four week plan and several members are giving it a go for the next month healthunlocked.com/lchf-die...
You'll find all our groups and activities in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... , plus a Welcome message. A good place to start is with a weekly weigh-in on the day of your choice, and the Daily Diary, where members share their meal plans.
This gives you a tour of the forum healthunlocked.com/?tour=true and, along with Pinned Posts, will show you how things work. Active participation can be a great boost to your own efforts so I hope you'll become an active member and we will see you joining in around the forum 😊

It definitely helped me, I was eating 1400 a day and losing nothing and now I'm up to 1700 a day and losing at a nice steady pace. I did also change my diet to include many more veggies, hope it helps you
Thank you so much for the quick replies I really appreciate it, I've downloaded the 4 week plan advised and I'm looking forward to giving it a go.
I so desperately need these lbs to drop....losing the inches is great but in all honesty I'm happy with my body and how I look, it's the actual weight that needs to change drastically so hopefully something like this new plan might kick things back into gear so the lbs start dropping xx
If your weight drops, your body will change and you will lose inches. If you're happy with how you look, why do you desperately need to lose 30lbs? Scale weight shouldn't be the only reason.
If you see me original post, it's for when I'm working with the horses (I'm very limited to what I can ride and work with right now due to weight restrictions on most of the horses at the yard I work at) and because of problems with my knees.
I'm happy with my body and I am positive in my own skin....however I know I need to lose weight to be healthier....i love my body chubby or skinny. I see my confidence in my body as a positive, but I am aware of being a healthy weight (not size) xx
Like I say chubby or slim I love my body ☺️ it gave me 2 children and I embrace it completely.
Ps desperate maybe isn't the right word but it's becoming so frustrating because it's been another year of missing out on extra on things because of the lbs. The 4 week plan starts today so I'm hopeful and going into it very positively 😊
Try something different . I was getting in a rut doing Zumba in the gym . Going at 7pm at night was a real ordeal . I won't go back now . I have found such a variety on You Tube from dancing , stretching , just 10 mins doing arms only ..wow they ache. I do in a morning then have breakfast .
Lots of good advice from people here, like checking your calories on the NHS. I thought I would just mention something.
I am very lucky to have occasional access to a machine which tell me my muscle mass, fat mass and body fat percentage. Often, I have found when I am losing inches on my waist but not on the scales, I have lost fat and gained muscle. For example, once I lost 0.5kg of fat and gained 1kg of muscle (over two months). This translates on the scales as a gain of 0.5kg and had me thinking I was failing but really I was doing well. You seem very active, I would suggest you are losing fat, hence the loss in inches but maybe gaining muscle. Just something to think about, the number on the scales isn't always the full picture.
